The best part about Fists of Shield--that was not a planned stunt, it was impromptu.
Filming and Editing: People with the right equipment are qualified for this title. The ones with experience in that will be picked over the ones with less or none at all.
Hello, I would like to advertise my experience and services here as I feel it could be helpful somewhat. Without wanting to come across as being snobby or anything I am currently at uni studying Film Production having specialised in editing, this means that I would be MORE than up for being very generous with my time cutting entries together. At home I've got Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 (& After Effects) however what I'd (probably) be able to do is edit on the uni's machines cutting on Avid Media Composer 5 (an industry level workflow), a software I'm taking an exam on sometime in the coming months. Again, not wanting to come across as "Pick me or to edit your stuff or you're an idiot." Just a guy, with a bit of experience, who would be very keen on taking part in this. Very, keen. Also :v:
Well, like I posted in the last thread, I've got some experience with filming and editing so I nominate myself for that I s'pose. Also I've learned to make my shots less boring since that first video. [editline]7th January 2012[/editline] Also, I've got all the stuff Psycho Sexy has except for a GED. v:v:v
I assumed that last year they made the requirement because the replay editor was released when the Saxxys were. This year, the replay editor has existed for a year's time--therefore everything after the end of the first annual Saxxys should be eligible. I emailed Valve about it though to see if they'll give us a definite answer.
i personally hope they won't restrict it to replays this year because i've got a bunch of good stuff in the back room
i personally hope they won't restrict it to replays this year because i've got a bunch of good stuff in the back room
I can only imagine what kind of things you can come up with--having seen your other works. And at that--Valve wasn't too picky about strictly replay editing (lol Badwater D)---but it seemed moreso that it was content generated after the contest announcement of the replay editor and if I'm not mistaken, had to include some part of a replay--which I'd imagine that Badwater D did at SOME point--even if it was minimal. Anyway, I also see a heavy restriction being placed upon replay generated content--the quality of submissions would be sacrificed if they limited it to only the two weeks. Not to mention, given that last year's wasn't the Saxxy awards, but the FIRST ANNUAL Saxxy awards--I'd imagine that they'd assume their fanbase would anticipate a SECOND ANNUAL Saxxy awards--therefore having 50 weeks of content is going to make for a far better contest than only 2 weeks of content.
So... Now while we are on the first page. What the hell is a saxxy?

How will it be with voice acting? Will we need people with deep voices or what?

I updated the official group of this project. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/fpcsp1 Stoffy, add the official group in the OP. [editline]7th January 2012[/editline] Also, you forgot to add the list of actors from the last OP: Actors: - Leonthefox - T H E - Average User - Rider695 - Maruhai - B-rabbit - Confuzzed Otto - Totenkreuz - Fiefio - Gamemaster1379 - Themooseisloose - Robmortar - Ripper Roo - Megaguy213 - A B A Survivor - Psyke - Erfly - TehMuffinMan - Leonthefox - Corndog Ninja - Blueleaf - Captain Chalky - TheNintendork - UntouchedShadow - CommanderMayher - GladosSC - k2. - Frying Dutchman - Shounic - IcyTruth - CaptainChalky - Rcksta - Banjo7J - TF2Master - Uitham - Zadrave
I got an idea for something. Map Some with a train that you can stand on Actors and things needed Just random hats or nothing for spy, engineer and all classes. What happens? Well. The RED team is full of engineers. By the trains they have a giant frontline of sentries with like a meter between them. The blue team are other classes, when all of them are in spawn everyone voice commands "Go! Go! Go! "Spy!" and everyone changes to spy. Then some cool shots, everyone jump up on the train as it passes by. Then they simuntaniesly jump down from the train and saps and stabs an engineer (They jump and land between the sentries). One engineer escapes but then a spy with ambassador headshots him (Like cut to when you see his face get blown up, he falls and behind the spy stands aiming) Aint good at script writing. What you guys think?
i personally hope they won't restrict it to replays this year because i've got a bunch of good stuff in the back room
Your Max of S2D. From what I've seen, you practically shit gold. If I had the time and money, I'd do everything I could do be you.
Your Max of S2D. From what I've seen, you practically shit gold. If I had the time and money, I'd do everything I could do be you.
I agree with this, and that is why I hope they do restrict it to replays or Max will win all the categories.
I agree with this, and that is why I hope they do restrict it to replays or Max will win all the categories.
Except the community will all vote for shitty stuff.
Except the community will all vote for shitty stuff.
You mean like Badwater D, which was brilliant as hell but not even a replay?
You mean like Badwater D, which was brilliant as hell but not even a replay?
Aka "Most Controversial."
I'm lonely in the chat. Oh wait, we've changed groups.
Would Valve allow Source FilmMaker? The replay editor is technically SFM (It uses Dmx files, can export as a Quicktime movie [Avi in SFM], TGA and/or .Wav). It's just SFM has a lot more features (Custom animation, DOF, Subpixel Jitter AA etc).
You mean like Badwater D, which was brilliant as hell but not even a replay?
Badwater was totally a replay. The guy's additions can be seen by the lack of tf2's shadow, but beside that it's a replay.
Badwater was totally a replay. The guy's additions can be seen by the lack of tf2's shadow, but beside that it's a replay.
It's a boring replay with an overlay.

[editline]7th January 2012[/editline]
You can't use real player actors in SFM.
Except you totally can. You can record yourself multiple times and, barring that, you can set up a server for SFM where multiple people can join at once and you can have multiple live people in one video. I used to follow the SFM thread when it was still a big deal.
You mean like Badwater D, which was brilliant as hell but not even a replay?

Aka "Most Controversial."
that badwater d was one of the most impressive out of all the entries. but the characters looked a little drunk. but the "Most Controversial" title really suited it
that badwater d was one of the most impressive out of all the entries. but the characters looked a little drunk. but the "Most Controversial" title really suited it
Whoever did it is I think the guy who's been doing similar videos for a while now. He has yet to get the lighting right and it's kinda annoying, really.

It would be nice if you could do me a favor and keep a full list of the people who's acting and the new "stand-in" actors, so I can add it to the OP and save it when I come home this evening. I'm sorry for the inconvenience as of now. I updated the OP with more specific information on joining a project, and edited small things: - Added links to the project leader's Facepunch Profiles on TF2 Noire and The Lone Engineer. - Edited the name of the overall project leaders to "Admins and information gatherers".
I guess I'll repost these from the other thread: Also, what's the difference between http://steamcommunity.com/groups/fpcsp1 and http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FPSA2012?
