This is awesome, I must say. [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Also, if you post your paint idea, please leave the RGB aswell please.
Red: 70 58 50 Blue: 54 70 74 Alternate Blue (sampled from the TF2 Texture Improvement Pack): 51 57 61
Got bored and began to sample colours from the psd files of a few items i worked on.
Is the Bomber's Tinge also sampled from one of your items or is it original?

I like OP the way it is. 90's style internet.
Is the Bomber's Tinge also sampled from one of your items or is it original?
It's the original rgb values of the brown bomber. dunno if they changed that :T
I can't seem to see the vtf of the Gibus, as the black becomes blue on Paint.Net. [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Well, looking as we have plenty of colors with no photos so we see how they look like when painted on a hat, we should probably start doing that. Similar to how Mnemo used the Ol' Geezer in his photos, we should use the Wiki Hat in our paint preview photos. Only thing is I have no clue how to do that, so someone might need to help me out. [editline]1st October 2012[/editline] Also, updated the OP.
A Shadowy Figure's Ghastly Shade Sampled from the Ghastly Gibus [sp]I copied the TF2 wiki picture of the Heavy wearing a gibus, put it in MS paint, marked a square inside the Gibus, pressed ctrl and minus until it had been summed up into a single pixel, and then I pressed ctrl and plus until the pixel was large enough to show the color that I wanted. SCIENCE![/sp]
Holy fuck. Wiki Cap looks glorious in that colour
Looks like a conductor cap.
Pink as Heck Not sampled from the nightmares of TF2's art director! also a comparison Now with 50% less eye-searing!
The guy who invented the lime and pink paint should be fired
Looks like After Eight to me.
After Eight has a green tint to it for god knows what reason. Trust me, it's notably different.
Another idea (sorry for not having the exact colors again): "The paint of steel" Sampled from the Fists of Steel.
If you don't mind Damian, I made a better OP picture: Edit: Improved further
If you don't mind Damian, I made a better OP picture: Edit: Improved further
Added to the OP. Really looks good! Now, who can we find to do some paint tests on the Wiki Cap? And by that, I mean, the paints in this thread.
Do them yourself? http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Template:Painted_variants/Tutorial
Another idea (sorry for not having the exact colors again): "The paint of steel" Sampled from the Fists of Steel.
Like this?
Do them yourself? http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Template:Painted_variants/Tutorial
VTFEdit doesn't work on my computer, that is why I'm asking others to do it. Plus, the tutorial is confusing for someone like me.
VTFEdit doesn't work on my computer, that is why I'm asking others to do it. Plus, the tutorial is confusing for someone like me.
Open model viewer, load player, load hat. Edit the .vmt (It's a text file not a texture) of the Wiki Cap with the RGB color you want, press F5, take screenshot, edit, upload and post it here. Isn't that hard. Edit: What am I saying you don't need to edit textures. Just edit a text file with 3 numbers.
Last one, I promise :v: (Sampled from the Human Cannonball)
Shit, this is a pretty cool thread idea. I gotta open up Modelviewer and try some of these on hats I like sometime. Also, we need a Fancy-Fedora team color~
Finally! Updated the OP to include paint previews on the Wiki Cap! Also, A Shadowy Figure's Ghastly Shade seems a bit brown-ish for some reason.
Also, we need a Fancy-Fedora team color~
An air of debonair is supposed to be this, I think
So, how well did I do these pictures? Any good?
Perhaps I should try and grab a darker sample from the gibus, because it looks way too much like radigan conagher brown.
I'm not really liking that Neon Nightmare paint.
A burning desire for black looks a lot better than I expected actually, neat.
I'm not really liking that Neon Nightmare paint.
Perfect. It's a nightmare, isn't it?
Oh and... for irony's sake, could we try and grab a sample of black from the wiki cap :v:? [editline]2nd October 2012[/editline]
Perfect. It's a nightmare, isn't it?
Urgh, they're like Pink and Lime 2.0
