why would you post about it before even checking the blog???
I wasn't able to
the fact that they were testing live earlier today was a clear sign that it's not ready anytime close to the coming hours
Just like someone said, I'm very grateful they are doing some real testing before launching the update. I could wait a little bit more if it means there won't be gamebreaking bugs.
Make sure the page monitor is set to check every 5 seconds.
or they could just give us an actual release date so we don't have to speculate when shit comes out TF2 Team finishes an update completely, then gives a release date so there is no delay or hassle
They release the updates as soon as they're ready. They don't just sit on them.
They release the updates as soon as they're ready. They don't just sit on them.
So what you're saying is... Friday hype?
So what you're saying is... Friday hype?
I doubt it. This update is clearly going to be big (in terms of system changes). They wouldn't release an update of this size on a Friday because they'd either have to work over the weekend or just pray it doesn't break.
Monday would be a great day as they have the whole week to work out bugs.
If anything we'll get a minor bug-fix tomorrow for stuff like the first person results screen and ranks/stats being bugged.
I just hope they some day update the game's engine to Source 2. The main reason why I stopped playing TF2 is because the engine is really starting to show its age now.

But even that is a crapshot.
Since the Disgaea offer lasts until the end of the steam sale does that mean it will be one of the daily deals eventually? If thats the case then id want to wait before getting it.
Since the Disgaea offer lasts until the end of the steam sale does that mean it will be one of the daily deals eventually? If thats the case then id want to wait before getting it.
Daily deals aren't a thing anymore.
Daily deals aren't a thing anymore.
Oh shit, i thought thats what highlighted deals meant. When did that change happen?
Last year
The entire stuff Eric has said + the fact that they are still doing Stress Tests makes me doubt it will even come next week, yet the things b4nny said did imply it supposed to be coming this week, urgh. I'm torn, and not to forget that the chance for an Update next week is 100% due to that game promo.
FIVE HUNDRED POSTS AND NO UPDATE YOU GUYS ARE KILLING ME

That's probably why we don't really get multi-day update pages anymore, if the update was intended for Wednesday and they did a 3 day update page starting on Monday people would be pissed if it didn't come out on time.

$5 it doesn't come on Friday and everyone's even more disappointed :v:
oh God this is invasion all over again :disgust:
You'd think that by now people who know info about updates would have learned to keep quiet about them until they're absolutely sure that it won't get delayed.
oh God this is invasion all over again :disgust:
My thoughts exactly
it's the [insert community update here] all over again
You'd think that by now people who know info about updates would have learned to quiet about them until they're absolutely sure that it won't get delayed.
Is that what you would prefer though? To know nothing about an update until it's already launched? To be completely in the dark about the future of the game? That seems like a pretty grim solution. I think the real problem is people with no self-control getting hyped over very little and getting mad and blaming Valve when the update doesn't ship on some arbitrary date that everybody assumes the update will ship on without Valve having promised that at all.

Sure I think hints or teases are nice, but I think they're only nice when they're given to something that comes when it's supposed it.
You'd think that by now people who know info about updates would have learned to keep quiet about them until they're absolutely sure that it won't get delayed.
you'd think by the 32nd iteration of a thread focused on major update speculation, people would stop proposing their own personal dates of an upcoming major update fueled entirely on content-drought hallucinations and completely baseless conjecture give the masses tidbits of the entire meal and then they get upset they can't eat the entire thing yet -or- starve them entirely and watch them drive themselves crazy about their countless hypotheses on how the meal tastes, smells, and looks
