Yeah, and I identify as a goddamn cactus. Seriously though, what the hell are some of those people thinking?
Well now that you mention it... Someone really needs to find out what's wrong with these people.
I've seen on tumblr people refer to themselves as "glitchkin". They're "digital lifeforms" I think... Just take a look http://glitchylalondes.tumblr.com/
it's way worse than that holy fuck [editline]20th July 2014[/editline] and the other two blogs are regularly updated too i can barely keep up with one how the fuck does she manage three
her main blog is shared with a MOTHER, who identifies as a fawn. And what's worse? she has a son and got 'triggered' and panicky when her son ate venison. http://pluandfawn.tumblr.com/
So I checked out pluto-kin's textpost tag.

Anonymous asked: I am asking this question anonymously because it is truly embarrassing for me. I identify as tamponkin and no one, not even my closest friends take me seriously. Do you have any advice for me? I feel so lost right now I don't even know what to do.
You should look up Pad Gardner (◠‿◠✿) or technically just Pad now (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ It is a being who is aspiring to become a feminine pad. You should take solace in knowing that it exists and that you are not alone. All kintypes are valid and if your friends can’t accept that then they don’t deserve your valuable friendship. (◕︵◕) Edit: Sorry! Pad’s pronouns are “it.” So this answer has been revised. -Alice

Anonymous asked: I am embarrassed to ask this, but i identify as a clock, and was wondering where I could find a community to support me. Thanks so much <3 I'm sort of new to Tumblr so sorry for my retarded question or anything k thanks baiiiii (luv ya)
Please don’t use the r slur. It’s extremely offensive and ableist. Most of the otherkin community supports all kinds of kintypes, even non sentient ones or inanimate ones. All kintypes are valid. -Alice
There's also how she said that pointing out to others that being biologically non-binary is impossible is transphobic? She also reblogged something about an arigender(?) where there are no labels for it? I'm not sure if I am supposed to be shocked or concerned about this group of people. It's just really cringe-worthy. After a bit more digging, I managed to find out they've even got a dragon-kin IRC client. There's also this entire pronoun collection made for non-binaries, transgenders, and other-kins.
So exactly why is Otherkin that far of a stretch, when people decide to identify as the opposite gender all the time, I mean who is to tell them what they can or can't be, I mean I don't really care as long as it doesn't affect me. Or is it people hate them only because they're different, and that they cannot understand their psychology so they just label them a freak outcast faker.
At this point it's hard to tell who is being serious and who is just fucking around.
most of the people are just fucking around. there are a good percentage who are serious, though.
Back when the internet wasn't as widespread, you just settled for the friendliest people around and eventually snapped out of your delusions by spending time with other normal human beings. Nowadays, you have the means to shut yourselves out of reality 100% by only hanging around other like-minded deluded individuals, and this is the result.

Usually such people construct these personas based off of whatever the fuck is convenient. You want to be close to animal? Starve yourself of information during your own critical period. That will bring as close to an animal and non-functioning part of society you can get.
What I gather the more I read about otherkin is that they take interests, like wolves and plants and space, and go overboard to use them as identities. Warped fuckin people lemme tell you.
I don't mind otherkin. At least that somewhat stays within the confines of plausibility and reality. What pisses me off are fictionkin people. Those who believe they have the souls of fictional characters inside them or that they are the reincarnation of fictional characters. That is straight up delusional.
I identify as a lamp... Because you can turn me on anytime. ;) Joking aside, JESUS fuck this Otherkin shit needs to nipped in the butt, it basically shows all the signs of a mental psychoses at this point.
this shit is first world problems times a hundred
The internet is a dangerous place if you're a gullible and socially inept idiot.
So is it possible for me to identify with a Space Marine and thus go out in the street wearing big fucking suits of armor and guns with exploding rocketbullets? And noone can say a goddamn thing about this? I now serve the Emperor. Purge the heretic, the mutant, the alien and most importantly, these traitors of Man who consort with beasts.

Why can't these people realise they're actually Idiotkin.

It's unfortunate that this happens and that should be taken seriously but this shouldn't. If you honestly believe you're a dolphin or a wolf or whatever, you need to seek mental help because that's outside your own species. Where were these people ten years ago? They didn't exist. These are stupid teenage girls self-diagnosing themselves to make themselves feel different and unique... and then they realize what it means to be different (an outcast) so then they start associating themselves with other self-diagnosed teenagers. It's a mixture of attention seeking and wanting to feel different. I just hope they realize how stupid this is.

Just because she looks like a hammer, that doesn't mean she isn't a power sword! Better that you know now how to refer to her and not trigger her later.

Probably more or less the same reason why, but its hardly a new fad.
I'm an UberMunchkinkin, I identify as myself.
I'm an UberMunchkinkin, I identify as myself.
Thank you for clarifying, looking at your avatar I assumed you preferred to be addressed with spooky pronouns
Honestly I think she's okay. She didn't go out of her way while talking about it and seemed pretty collected. I don't think she was super-awkward or anything, just different. Far from as close-minded and malevolent as some of the posts here and the video subtitles would make you believe.
ah yes with all this new -kin stuff arising I feel happy to come out now I am waffle-kin my pronouns are waff/waffle/waffself use them or I will be so fucking triggered I tell you what I am now to assume my kin habits, excuse me
Remember the cringey "teen werevolves video" from 2010? I was wondering what they were doing today but I found out that Adrian Baine Manley or "Deikitsen Wolfram Lupus" hung himself with his collar and leash. (according to comments here and there his best friend committed suicide a few days before and he had issues with his dad not accepting him) This is just speculation but it seemed as if it would just be a phase until they got too much internet attention. afaik youth subcultures have always existed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_modern_Western_subcultures It's easy to think today's subcultures are far more bizzare and it may be somewhat true since we have the internet.
These kids played jazz and talked about philosophy and such? Sounds awesome
Sexuality and gender are within the bounds of stuff that's human. Otherkin involves stuff like "feeling partly/entirely" not-human. It's pretty easy to understand how someone can feel they're of a different sexuality or feel they're a different gender than their body represents, and you can ask them if you don't understand. The key is communication here, I can ask someone why/how/whatever about their body, and find plenty of material on gender/sexuality on the internet because it's been well studied. I can't communicate with my female dog, who peed like a guy dog. I have no idea if its a habit they picked up because they hung around other guy dogs, or if it's something more. We know animals do stuff, but we don't know shit about why they do it most of the time. There's plenty of theory, but you can't ask an animal a question and get a response 99% of the time (yeah, there are some animals that understand language/sign language to a very basic level, but they can't answer very advanced questions). To me, someone being otherkin isn't an issue unless they can't function in day-to-day life. I don't care if you feel part-dog or part-sandwich. If they can, it's not worth getting upset over- but in some of the cases here where someone claims they can't get a job/income because [party/fully animal excuse here], then it's a serious issue.
Bonus: search 'otherkin' on tumblr and have tons of good ol fashioned laughs.
I'm curious if someone used "Moon Moon" in the non ironic sense. :v:
