"i cant beleev why ther is so much of da same animashuns and things from sr3 sr2 was much beter" because sr2 didnt look like sr1 at all right either way if i get to jump out of a helicopter while kanye west is playing in the background ill be good
I wish Volition would be allowed to do something other than Saints Row. Go back to their REAL roots. The developers of Red Faction, Freespace, and half of Descent can do so much more than Saints Row. (yes I want a proper Descent sequel that doesn't suck)
actually let's all hold hands and agree that volition is a bunch of morons for killing off johnny gat i mean fuck, SERIOUSLY
i liked the plan b they discussed wherein gat, feeling like the saints "traded their dicks in for pussies," lost sight of what being a gangster was all about and became a kingpin in the syndicate.
actually let's all hold hands and agree that volition is a bunch of morons for killing off johnny gat i mean fuck, SERIOUSLY
If his death was actually better played out and not so fucking ambiguous until SUDDENLY ZOMBIE GAT after beating the game, maybe it wouldn't be so badly received. Granted, killing him off would piss someone off somewhere, but having him get stabbed and then nonchalantly fight off the stabber before going guns blazing a mere minute or two beforehand and then having him die off-screen to a random hail of machinegun fire over an intercom? No sight of the body, only the villain at the time truly mentions it upfront, and then everyone but Shandi stops giving a fuck aside from the occasional reference from them. And the cutscene that Shandi kept referring to as 'Gat's funeral' literally had nothing other than Shandi's word indicating that it was a funeral of any sort, making me wonder if they were going to make it his funeral early in development, swapped the scene out for a new one, but forgot to change Shandi's lines that constantly referred to it or something. I can respect the VA's decision to want to give up the series, but the devs really didn't do him justice at all.

This seems like it would be a great game, if not for Saints Row. I don't care about the Saints Row brand, but this game (Super President Neo punches 'n' shoots aliens) doesn't seem to fit the game's style. SR3 was based around driving and shooting, whereas the powers focus on running, standing and manipulating, or melee. It just doesn't seem to fit together all that well.

The senator honors the bridge in the name of her husband, that asshole from the end of Saints Row 1, and the Saints happen to be there when the Luchadores attack them. Then Shandi says it's Gat's funeral and what Killbane's thugs did is "over the fucking limit." I guess it's pretty easy to miss that fact, but if it weren't for that single line, I really wouldn't of known it was meant to be his (symbolic) funeral, honestly. v:v:v

I didn't even know it was a funeral until after they ended up in the water, I was like "Oh, guess that was a hearse".
Ugh.. I can't stand dubstep.
i really wish they showed his funeral, not just them leaving it i mean, if you're going to kill off a character you might as well give them respect
I assumed that the reason they were on the bridge was because they were headed towards the funeral and they never got a chance to properly bury him because of the attack.
Ugh.. I can't stand dubstep.
In the same boat here, but on the plus side we don't have to use it.
In the same boat here, but on the plus side we don't have to use it.
Or do we? There could easily be a mission or two where you might have to use it, right?
Ugh.. I can't stand dubstep.
Let's hope for mods replacing dubstep to rock, for example.
Will they still have the powers in Saints Row 5? How will they explain that if they are out of the animatrix.
would have been better with a laughtrack [editline]9th May 2013[/editline] actually let's all hold hands and agree that volition is a bunch of morons for killing off johnny gat i mean fuck, SERIOUSLY
The guy in the video said that it was something along the lines of a virtual Steelport, right? So chances are there will be a virtual Johnny Gat.
Saints Row IV: Facepunch Most Polarising Game 2013
Video is private?
I cannot articulate how dissapointed I was when I saw the box shaped rocket launcher that is or is not based off of TF2 and/or the FLASH shoot a generic rocket. c'mon, step it up
Video is private?
Wait what. Why the hell would it be private?
Wait what. Why the hell would it be private?
No idea :p but it is.
Just being really powerful and destroying things will get old really fast.
your analogy doesn't really work because the previous bioshock game was radically different. bioshock infinite, as i said in my last post, is in a completely different place, has a different artstyle, and a different "feel." i mean, look. if somebody didn't know about bioshock and looked at these images, they'd probably not know they were the same franchise. the reason why this sr4 gameplay demo grinds my gears is because i'm seeing a lot of the SAME. same animations, same city streets, same citizens walking around, same cars, etc. i have a valid reason for getting upset because it LOOKS identical to the last game with a few add-ons. very bad first impressions, that's why i didn't like this 6 minute demo. [editline]9th May 2013[/editline] yes let's all have a gigantic hugbox where nobody's allowed to have a different opinion1!
Fallout 3 and New Vegas look and play the same. So I guess New Vegas isn't allowed to be a full price game anymore huh.
Fallout 3 and New Vegas look and play the same. So I guess New Vegas isn't allowed to be a full price game anymore huh.
Seriously, man? New Vegas may play the same on the surface, but it overhauled the systems, added on, and was remarkably different in its own right, the entirely new game area chock full of quests, stories, secrets, items, enemies, honest-to-god factions that you can join or manipulate and such counting. Saints Row IV looks like the 3rd game with superpowers, right down to the same game area in general, and the Zen aliens replacing the police are basically just STAG Troops with a transform animation and unintelligible screams. And even if the content was brand-spanking-new, some people will still give SR4 bad rep for trying to be too damn cartoony and whacky without any real seriousness, full of one-trick gimmicks that get old real fast and humor barely that much better than Duke Nukem Forever's. That's my main problem with SR3, even if it was fun gameplay at its base.
-images n' stuff-
Oh my god. I just opened this thread and I saw that image. I said: "Holy shit, what the hell did they do to the game"
