Currently trying to port forward rust, and im trying to port forward the port 28015, but it doesn't seem to be open, my friends cant join, i port forwarded 28014-28016 so all those ports would be open but still nothing, any ports that i should open or something? because 27015 wouldn't work and 28015 wouldn't work, i used portforward.com for gmod and it worked perfectly but theres no rust on portforward.com i got a tp-link WDR4300 i allowed the rust server application go threw firewall. Please help that would be great.
You could try figuring out with netstat or whatever it's called on Windows. Also make sure you're forwarding UDP and not only TCP.

alright will do thanks man!
Yeah it has 0 connections to the rust server application. Its also UDP and it dont work
Default ports of rust are 28015 for connections and 28016 for querry (steam and server list communication)
As you tried those it suggest something else is blocking communication, I would suggest opening the ports in the firewall to as allowing the exe for some reason have failed for me (Eg once i used the ports in the firewall and not the application it worked for me)

There's a way to let netstat print all ports that are currently listening to, that's more what I meant.
Looks like this for me (on Linux):
