I know that profile security is my responsibility and anything that happens is on me. My steam account was recently compromised (Steam ID64- 76561198280429184). I woke up one morning and logged in to see everything in Chinese. I contacted Steam Support (ticket number: 9978-OALV-8486) and they indeed verify that the account had been hacked. I got everything sorted out and got it secure again. I have screen shots of the ticket stating it was compromised.
I attempted to play Rust afterwards and it stated that I was EAC banned. Now for the famous words, I did not cheat. I have 590 hours logged for Rust and more money in it for skins and in game items. I have only been playing PC for about 5 months now. I have nothing to hide. My Steam is public and anyone can see my activity. I then contacted facepunch and they stated that they could not do anything for me. They told me to contact EAC and they would be able to help me. I have yet to hear from them. I just recently contacted them.
While I had a few days off for work I decided to buy Rust on another profile so I could play. Steam ID64: 76561198310794213. I got about 16 hours in and I DC'ed with it stating I was EAC banned again. Im pissed by this point and am trying to figure out what happened. I have never cheated in Rust. I havent cheated in any PC game that I own. I dont know what EAC is seeing but I cant even play. Im scared to buy it for a third time and have the same thing happen. I factory restored by laptop and am hoping that will fix any issue.
I understand if you cant do anything about the ban. I just hate to lose all of that time and money. If you cant, please help me figure out why I cant play without getting banned. Im at a loss. Thanks
Wait for eac to comment.
Thanks. I know. I just being impatient at this point. I just feel like im just at a loss. Im worried about it happening again. I dont know what the deal is.

My biggest concern at this point is will it happen for a third time.

Wipe your HDD of any hacks and buy a new copy of the game, that's the only way. You can still backup personal video's and pictures from the HDD but any programs will not, seeing as they maybe infected the cheat vendors you use are malicious seeing as you give your entire PC over to them.
I believe i sent the request to the right site. [url]https://www.easyanticheat.net/[/url]
You should also link every account you've been banned from by copying their actual steam ID.
I factory restored the laptop. It deleted all the games, apps, and personal setting I had so im assuming that will do it. Im not super computer literate when it comes to doing in depth things.

Just looking for holes in your story, that's all. We get a lot of people here claiming not to cheat, but ironically they do... Even people with 3000 hours and full inventories come here and cheat ingame.
I completely understand. I would be in the same position if I were you. Im just trying to be totally transparent.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
Like i said, I have the image from Steam Support stating that I was compromised. I would post it but it has personal things I had to put in it to prove I was the owner of the account.
it might hold some weight with EAC, but i wouldn't count on it. in the long run, your account security is your own responsibility (as you yourself have stated).
have a chat with them though, they are nice guys. just also remember anything that legitimately gets a player unbanned could potentially be used to illegitimately get a hacker unbanned too, so they need to be especially careful and often don't have the luxury of giving you the benefit of the doubt.
I agree. I hope I can get it back but, it was my responsibility. I have gotten it a lot more secure now. I just hate to lose the money i have invested.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
Should I stick to the site that i previously stated I made the complaint to or us the EAC steam forums. I dont know exactly where to do it.

What's got me confused is the fact he got banned on a second account, even after he's been banned on the first one by a "confirmed account hacked" There's no way he'd have access to the new account.
The second account has nothing to do with the first other than it was banned as well. The only thing I can figure is something attached itself to a file in my computer that EAC read and did not like. Like i said, I restored the computer to factory so... if worse comes to worse, ill try it one more time. I just dont want to do that yet just in case.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
In hopes of saving it. I just hate that im being punished for something that I didnt do. I do enjoy the game but I dont care to hack in it. I couldnt even tell you where to begin to attempt it.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
I dont know how they gained access to my computer/account in the first place.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
They can look at my stats and gaming history with it. Theres no way it would compare to an actual hacker. Hell, my K/D in the last server i was in was .1 lmao
sorry, was the computer compromised, or the account?
bans would only occur if something on the computer the account was running on had something hooking into rust memory; in other words either the bans have come from another computer using both your accounts unlawfully, or from your own (or i suppose a combination of both).
im assuming both man but i honestly have no idea. I can tell you for a fact that the account was compromised.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
thats what im trying to figure out. how all this happened.
[editline]14th June 2016[/editline]
but it also makes no sense to me that they would hack me just to screw with rust. I know people hack them to sell them but it just seems far fetched i guess.

Would it be okay, if you put out the response you got from steam?
[QUOTE=crazzyman228;50524138]Would it be okay, if you put out the response you got from steam?[/QUOTE]
He did mention there was personal information on it.
It does have personal stuff on it. I can crop the message from them stating it was compromised and what to do in order to fix it.

With Windows 10 there are two options with that. There is a restore if your going to keep the computer and a restore if your going to recycle the computer. I did the one where I was going to keep the computer. I have also downloaded an antivirus now (which i did not have before). Should that be enough.
The security of your account is your responsibility. The ban is permanent.
well, i'm afraid that's it then.
try again, and hope you have nothing on your computer that might trigger a ban; either you do, and all this is beside the point, or you don't and both accounts were compromised. only you know the answer, so from here it's up to you what you do.
Wow, so its a thanks for your money and have a nice day kinda deal then. Great customer service here.
If people got unbanned after someone "stole" their account and hacked on it. What stops people from logging in on a different PC, cheating there and then asking for an unban?
Im not saying I dont understand it. Its just bs that im now out $60+ dollars for no reason. It doesnt effect them though so it doesnt matter.
Dude $60 is nothing so just take it on the chin & make a new steam account & buy it again as everything is gone now.
[QUOTE=Vipertech0911;50526831]Im not saying I dont understand it. Its just bs that im now out $60+ dollars for no reason. It doesnt effect them though so it doesnt matter.[/QUOTE]
You need to understand that if they were to remove the ban from your account, it would set a precedent for actual cheaters to get unbanned through simple means. Devs aren't these cruel, unfeeling monsters who let people remain banned to get them to buy more copies.
Your security is your own responsibility. I almost lost my entire Steam account a short while back, but I was active in reclaiming it and then started upping my security.
[QUOTE=PeejsterM;50526978]You need to understand that...[/QUOTE]
I get the feeling he understands. But he's understandably stung about it, even if it actually is entirely his problem and the Steam TOS spells out just how boned he is.
It sucks to have your account jacked and fucked over by someone else. I think we can agree on that, even if we also have to agree that nobody will help him.
