So I've reviewed this game on Steam and on some other sites where I do writing / bitching most of the time. Just wanted to share my experience thus far with everything related to the game. Feel free to slap, ban or tie me up and force me to eat my own shit for opening a new thread fro this crap. Additionally, you can even delete this ranting, as you'll surely perceive it. I don't give a rat's ass.
One small thing before I leave you to it. Sammii (the guy from support who replied to my ticket - see below -), you should be fired.

[B]Wouldn't recommend this game now. I've been stalking Rust since it was announced. Didn't buy it from the get go, wanting it to get some up-dates first.
Finally made the big step and bought the game. If you're in luck, you could run the game without 'Stopped Working' errors on exit or without it freezing every 20 seconds. I wasn't so lucky though. On a decent rig, I found it hard to run the game. I wasn't the only one. I tested out the "grass.on false" solution and things got sightly better. Playable even..
So off to play Rust! .. for a few days. I honestly can say that the game is AWESOME or at least the idea behind it is. So why did I not click the Recommend this Game button? Well, that's because FacePunch doesn't give a shit about decent players.
Yes, I'm referring to the cheater/hacker issue. Pick a server, any server. Out of an average 50 people on one server, 20 of them play with a type of hack. Be it aimbot, speedhack, nightvision, noclipping.. or all of them at the same time.
Ok, you might say.. it's an alpha and there's a system that protects you.. at least on Steam. Even if this fails, you can always head on to the FacePunch forums and get some manly answers or even try support! Boy you are so wrong!
In their forums, you can actually get slapped around if not banned for opening a new thread about hacking. They have their order.. when it comes to threads, not solving issues. Their policy about cheaters is (and I quote) "VAC will get them, eventually."
Ha, ha. What a load of decaying shit. With no Rust anti-cheat system in place, you throw the load on a generally useless VAC thing. Sorry, that just doesn't cut it. Not when you ask for 20€ for an alpha that moves this slow and this bad.
If you've been a beta-tester or an alpha-tester or better yet, a game tester, you already know that things like this will go on until its official release.
I said something earlier about support for Rust. That's a joke too. I sent a ticket a 9 days ago detailing the freezing problems and just now, literally, I got a reply. Wanna see it?

Is this a fucking joke? If it is, I'm not laughing. I could joke too, and say something like: Hope you spend my 20€ on your funeral, very soon! I won't say that though, I'm a great guy.
Enough about hackers, cheaters and support buffoons. Let's talk a bit about Rust. Again, the idea is awesome. You can fully immerse yourself into the game literally playing it for days on end. Shit, I'm just lied twice. No you can't play it for days on end.. and no, not "enough about hackers". You can probably, on average play this game for about 2 days.. or say.. 24 hours if you have spare time. By then you would have built yourself a nice cozy house, gathered up resources you need.. and get a strong grip on the game. But that's all! On the second day.. while you sit near the campfire thinking you hit the jackpot by buying Rust, you'll hear shitty music spamming your voice chat and see a dude just walking through your house wall (noclip) taking all your shit (maybe leaving some charcoal, just for kicks).. then killing you, all this while flaming the chat.
Great, huh? 24h wasted! And you even payed for this. No worries though.. "VAC will get them, eventually."
I'm sick of this and actually got progressively angry while 'bitchiing about cheaters left untouched' ( And yes, it's a quote from FacePunch officials. When you try to report a cheater/hacker or anything else, you're just bitching for them.)

Do not buy the game! At least not until you hear from 100 sources that this shit got any attention. Hard to believe it will, since they are too busy stuffing their pockets with your cash!

Dude I've been stalking rust since last August, its the primary reason I created an account, but you sound like you jumped the gun and are having severe buyers remorse and are taking it out on everyone else. The least you could have done was to go watch some people who do a play through of the game in its current state, hell you should have came here and created an account to become intimately familiar with the community and all of its shortcomings. Ive tracked rust since August as Ive said already and you know why I havent decided to give garry or anyone on that team my money yet?
Its not optimized to run on a variety of rigs. The community does not have a player base I would enjoy interacting with. Its plagued with hackers. Support ( from the outside looking in ) seems to be lackluster at best. And last but not least.... ITS.NOT.FINISHED.

Uh would it kill you to do a little research before throwing a huge fit?? There's three anticheats in rust right now, not just VAC. EAC is has just been rolled out and cheatpunch was put in a while back to kill off the current hacks being used. You really need to relax and actually read the resources that have been made available to you lol.

I'm actually impressed you took all this time and effort to type up this massive rant instead of just reading about what's been going on with the game. It's not like they've been trying to hide shit from you guys or something.
