server.steamgroup in server.cfg not working

I used to admin a legacy server a while back, and recently started up again with the new version. i had used server.steamgroup in legacy without issues, but it's not working at all for me now--anyone can join the server.

Perhaps it's some issue tied to either Oxide or Multiplay/Clanforge, but was wondering if others were having similar issues.
