• Cheats that noone can check - must be fixed

Hello, I noticed 2 things what really must be fixed because this are cheats noone can check: No crosshair I´m sure that this is not new. If you don´t have a crosshair like in this game, just get a adhesive tape, stick it on you monitor and paint a crosshair on it. This works as good as a crosshair in game and noone can check this. Fix this please, give us a crosshair. So everyone has the same chance to hit. I you want to make it more difficult to hit just let it dangle by breathing ore something else. See at night: When I start playing RUST I always was wondering why some people don´t have a light on in the night, but shoot very sharp and it seems that they can nearby see everything. Now I know how they do this: After sunset normally you are not abel to see good, just turn up your gamma correction of your graphic-card. After that you will nearby see as good as at day. There is only about 2 minutes where you can see nothing. For this I have no idea how to fix, but this must be fixed. or the night will be useless. NOTICE: This is not a thread how to cheat, I only will help the developers to make this cool game balanced for everyone. Greetings, Warhead
I wonder how long it's going to take for some golden turd to say "make crosshair hacks and gamma hacks vac bannable" it's not like either are really cheats but they should at least be added because it's just fair and normal then again, it's not like cross hairs are actually going to increase your aim unless you're shit at the game, and if you are benefiting, yes, you're terrible anyways. using Iron scopes would be better.
How about moving the bow that the tip of the arrow is in the center of the screen? That way, cross-hair cheats would be unnecessary and it wouldn't spoil the realistic feel.
I agree somewhat on preventing the use of 'gamma correction' in-game, but when it comes to sticking a crosshair on your screen that is unavoidable. Like J!NX says, use your Iron sight - That's the whole reason why it exists is for accuracy. I think instead of adding crosshairs for the simpletons, Garry and the team could perhaps implement more environmental? features in regards to sway, breathing and wind/rain. This will render crosshairs on your monitor rather useless as it does not guarantee accuracy for having it.
I agree. Although i don't really see either as "cheats", i'd prefer it if everyone was on the same playing field. So maybe just add a small "dot" cross-hair as default and make the entire night pitch black (like the 2 minutes is currently) with a shorter dawn and dusk.
There's already a pretty stiff sway on the new rifle. And a mouse sensitivity exploit was fixed that previously allowed people to drop their mouse sensitivity to eliminate it. And then someone immediately found a way around that and happily posted about fixing the "bug". These are people who don't read the changelog and can't tell the difference between bugs and exploits. Weep, my people. Also, regarding gamma, the devs are looking for a solution. One consideration is similar to what Crysis does at night; there's a layer of fuzz that's too dark and insignificant to see if you're playing fair, but if you crank your gamma up, all of a sudden the distorting fuzz pops into visibility because it's now bright enough -- which has the result of not giving you any particular detail enhancement for your troubles.

Get tools into the game to check for wind direction and speed, etc... if you want to shoot long-distance.

I don't think we need to get into versimilitude just to defeat crosshair "hacks" like a marker dot on the monitor. There are simpler ways of introducing imprecision into aiming.

This game isn't too much about realism that it needs bullet physics but still - I think weapon accuracy should have an effect. Like the MP5A4 - Horrendously inaccurate, which makes sense as it's an SMG.
This almost equals: I play video games for several years now and have more skill than others - this need to be fixed. come on ... you can't be serious -.-
ive got a better idea... remove the modern guns. this is a survival game, where you make your stuff.. not sure how we could craft a perfect assault rifle, pistol, etc. The revolver, pipe shotgun, etc are great. they feel like they fit. Remove the other items or replace with something else. There is no factory to produce the intricate parts required for these Keep it primitive to an extent. Explosives? sure.. home made style..that maybe have a chance to explode when igniting - killing you lol The modern weapons dont seem to fit. I bought this game because its a survival game.. not an fps. make it harder to kill someone unless you are close. just my 2 cents
ive got a better idea... remove the modern guns.
Sure, remove the modern guns, and the problems with the "cheating" with the hunting bow crosshair will be solved!
more options for the player = better game
