I started up rust today and my antivirus told me it has blocked access to a malicious IP( 217.23.10.22 ).
Not sure if that is some kind of anti cheat, and will I get banned because it has been blocked?
I am using MalwareBytes (Build: 1.75.0.1300 - 04/04/2013 18:50:30)
I also don't think I can allow it either - that's if it is a safe ip.

I've heard that facepunch and others anti-cheats Garry are using are some kind of trojans and in some way even violates our privacy, that's why your antivirus is doing the work!

It tells you exactly what that IP is for if you actually read that page. Here, let me quote the relevant part:

Yeah I saw that, but that doesn't tell me if its an anti-cheat or a real infection.
Also that IP could be hosting many servers? there are 65535 possible servers that one IP could be running.

It is not an anti-cheat or an infection. When you click "Play game" and the server list pops up, your computer is querying each and every one of those servers. The IP your antivirus popped a false positive on is a Rust game server hosted by hfbservers.com.
