Need Help Banning Someone Permanently Using Steam ID

Hey, I have a cheater right now on my server and I'm having some issues on how to ban him using the "banid" command. I've tried :

- banid "STEAM_0:1:XXXXXXXX"

- banid STEAM_0:1:XXXXXXXX

- banid "0:1:XXXXXXXX"

- banid 0:1:XXXXXXXX

There's no way for me to kick him at the moment as he is using symbols in his name I am unable to see with my computer. Is there any way to check if he's banned without restarting the server, or does anyone know how the command works? Also, is there any way to kick him that I don't know of?

What are you hosting the server with? Use the console on your server provider.

Use Shift-tab to open the Steam overlay, click on View Players-Current Game. Scroll through the list until you find the player with the suspicious name, confirm it's them, click on their profile, on their profile page right click and select copy page url. You now have their community ID.

Go to SteamConverter or a similar website:

Paste their community ID into the box and it will fetch the SteamID for you.

no need to do any of this, just type status in the console to get their 64 bit steam id, typee banid and then this longish number and hey presto they are added to ur ban list, then kick therm and they cannot get bk on
