Top Rust Servers Project Update - Rust

As of this writing, the project is now just shy of 2 months old! We've always had a warm welcome with these kinds of updates and we always like to keep everyone in the loop on the happenings of the site. Sorry we haven't been here much lately, we've just had our head down and focused on developing. [B]We've been busy. Scratch that, we've been crazily busy:[/B] - Voter API has been a hit, and it's getting some more improvements soon. It's supported on Oxide and soon on Magma. More plugins to come, as well. - Rank / Voting Reset happens tomorrow, which should serve to bring some new guys in and give everyone a chance. - We fixed an exploit with our voting system and de-ranked the sites that decided to exploit it. - New ranking is almost ready to go live. Hopefully people like it a lot more than the first few versions. It's a constant learning process and feedback loop, really. - New dynamic banner (showcasing the new sky) is live. We are adding more very soon. [B]Any specific sizes you'd like to see?[/B] [B]And most excitedly: [/B] We are taking an initiative at fixing admin abuse on servers. It's going to be kinda neat to see how that goes. That should launch sometime in March, after we've trialed/tested it. Hope everyone has a splendid Friday and an awesome weekend. We have to get the ranking algo perfect first. And once we do, I think it will take care of itself in the long term. Anybody can build a server list, as we've seen with many projects cropping up this month. But to nail down the perfect harmony between player and server owner, that's magic.

How will you determine real admin abuse, and people that were banned for hacking saying it was admin abuse?

If someone is paying for their own server and has admins on it, they have the right to do whatever they want to do. It's their server. If the people that play on the server don't like it, they can move on OR deal with it. I'm just curious what your intentions are.

It may be best to leave admin abuse accusations to the comments thread for each server. How would you verify admin abuse is going on? How do you know screenshots aren't faked? What if you do get duped and punish a server where the admin didn't actually do something wrong?

Hey guys, can't speak about how. Just know I've worked on some of the largest dating sites in the world and we had a unique way we handled abuse in different ways. I'm going to apply some of that to the site :) If it works, you'll notice a lot more servers playing nicely. If it doesn't, we'll change directions and try another path. Suffice to say this approach is unique.

toprustservers needs a wipe date feature, showing what the wipe date was for searches.

Sounds like work! Really nice progress. Wipe date and a calendar would be great and maybe a poll option would be really nice! Keep up! Good job :)

I went to this website and all I got from it was people that have money to throw away are on this website. The "top" servers on this website are empty. Also when I look up location I don't want to look up Cananda, I want to look at a time zone. Is it there and I'm just blind? idk haha.

Still no option to report servers :( Would be great for the few servers stealing banners people have made for their server, and for their server only.

We can definitely look into that, guys. Timezones could be an option for sure. Will add that to the "check out" list. Right now we've got a full plate, but we'll have time soon to look into it.
