100% GPU activity and Computer Freezing while starting/playing Rust
7 replies, posted
Hi I have a ATI 5850 GPU and an i7-860 CPU. I have run high demand games on max settings before no problem When i go to run rust, even on lowest settings + 640/480 resolution my gpu shoots to 100% activity and heats up super fast. Even at the menu this will happen I can't even play the game. THis is causing my screen to flicker and with 1 min i will get a grey screen of death. Is there some issue with my specs and this game, what's going on.
help
ATI 5850 and i7-860. Your answer is right there.
Update your components a bit. It will help. Not saying "hey man you're made of money, go do this." Just telling you, with that outdated of components... it's a wonder Rust even runs for you at all.
What? you can't seriously be saying these components arn't capable of running Rust. 5850 is still the upper end of high end cards, and the same issue occurs on fastest with lowest resolution. That is not the problem
Besides this issue occurs by me just loading to the main menu, not even playing.

It is not a total piece of junk, but it's not the upper end of anything anymore.

regardless of that argument Rust should not be crashing my card at the title screen within 10 seconds
card aint best, but it should run this game fine... im telling you, this game has shitty optimization, especially with AMD components! makes me crazy! i dunno when i last time played this game because of its annoyning stutters, freezes and blablaproblemsbla.
forgot to mention, game is unoptimized and unity engine too... so its twice as fucked up situation!
Get better cooling.
I have stock coolers on all of my cards, I can't be arsed to upgrade.
I can mine coins with high end cards almost touching eachother and play Rust and still only get 70C
