Foundations, triangle and squares don't like each other

Was it purposefully made so that you can't attach a square foundation from a triangle one?

For instance, if I build a triangle, I can't then build a square foundation connected to it.

This is really annoying. I enjoy building interesting structures and now I have to just use squares lol How boring! Please fix this with a quick patch!

Thanks for posting i am having the same problem too, cant build any round structures with squares and triangles. Thinking the problem has happened due to the new fence and dual door update.

They are trying to fix the double wall exploit would be the more logical thought. Cause its starting to be abused. Granted making them compatible going square to triangle but not triangle to square is a weird way to do it

Can confirm that square foundations are unable to be placed off of triangle foundations, but triangle foundations are able to be placed off of square foundations. Hopefully this isn't longterm, since it makes building a lot more difficult.

Yeah this is just silly. I honestly don't want to play anymore until this is fixed. Building is the most fun to me, but building square boring buildings isn't what I enjoy.

I'm surprised more people aren't complaining about this. It just goes to show how many people really suck at building structures lol I see alot of ugly block buildings making Rust look like Minecraft with better graphics lol Now that's all you can build.

Seriously devs, this deserves a quick fix.

we found that you can do the following:
1. put down a square and upgrade to something like stone
2. attach triangle (twig) and upgrade it.

this works but same material don't connected (Square/triangles)

There was a small update today that addressed this and a couple other issues.

Normally I wait until late afternoon Friday or Saturday to play after Thursday's update.

I upgraded to wood and it still wouldn't let me place square against triangle

you have to upgrade to stone.. not wood.. I got it to place after that
