There should be 'rust_Data' folder next to the executable

Just did the update and this is what im getting Ive installed and reinstalled check game cache many times

running win 8.1 pro

also to add the game is showing 4.1 mb and is taking 10 mb on my Hard Drive

***update**** I deleted every thing with rust and opt out for the beta and now the game runs great

I have tried doing every you said and it does not work for me. I deleted everything and still no luck. :(

Right click on rust in steam go to properties , click betas tab, Click the beta and click "None-opt out"

Yea I'm getting the same thing. Probably because I opted in for the "beta" version. Just means that you get the most up-to-date version, and that being said, can likely be broken.

I already have, although I'll probably just opt back in at a later date. I haven't been getting on too much lately, so it's not really a big deal lol.

The beta client doesn't work right now, pending a server update. They changed how certain checks are done in the beta client, but haven't changed the main server code yet.
