New computer, and Rust opens with a black screen...

So I decided to go out and buy a new badass gaming laptop http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-17-3-laptop-intel-core-i7-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/2990031.p?id=1219085427884&skuId=2990031&st=pcmcat190000050007_categoryid$abcat0502000&cp=2&lp=2.
My new problem after installing steam, and then rust... is that Rust opens with a black screen and music playing. Neither windowed or full screen make a difference and changing the resolutions doesn't seem to make any difference either?
I loaded up DayZ and set it to full settings for everything and it runs perfectly.
Any ideas? Thanks for any assistance fellas!
I wouldn't call that a ''Badass gaming laptop'' lmao
More like an expensive laptop...

Thanks for your time and effort in attempting to help my situation. Glad to know there are still trolls like you to keep the forums going!
Now that we have handled that... anyone who can actually help rather than be a jack donkey?

Your pc sucks, get a new one.
I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice Legs. Go drink some syrup and come back and play nice ok?
Thought you had a problem with low FPS..
Have you tried verifying the cache and reinstalling?

Ha yes I did... and since I wasn't getting anywhere and from what I was reading about on the internet it was seeming that my laptop was ruined for gaming.
So I went out and bought a new one... which then lead to a new problem. lol
Needless to say I have figured out the issue. My video driver needed to be updated from the website. The right click look for updates method said everything was up to date. And that wasn't true...
The new driver made it such that I could access mroe controls to configure Rust properly.
Thanks for those who helped.
