I just bought the game and I can't play, what's going on?

IT Crowd reference aside, turning it on and off again won't solve anything unless they have their hosting provider swap out fresh IPs on all of their dedicated boxes. Even then you're only guaranteed a few minutes of uptime before the DDoS attacks start back up. It's just a waiting game at this point.

Why don't you read the forums before you buy? Plenty of topics and news that the servers are being under ddos attacks.

They didn't charge you for a game that you can't play. There was a massive blue banner on the top of the screen when you paid for the key that read "This is in very early public development. Everything will change. Beware." You should have known full well what you were paying for going into it.
That being said, the game itself is perfectly playable. The servers are undergoing intermittent DDoS attacks which, at least from what I can see on my end, has caused the devs to null route the servers until the attacks subside. You'll get to play the game that you paid for, just be patient.
