I don't remember ever being a part of a community that has been more toxic and trolltastic than this one. Seriously. Does anyone actually try to help each other or discuss the game? It's a troll-fest and a place for hackers and cheaters to cry about being VAC banned or Cheatpunched and not much else. Unless of course you count the whiners who complain about the "slow development" of the game. Which just attract more flames and trolls. Can't we, I dunno, maybe try and help each other. The carebear attitude doesn't work for playing Rust, but these forums ought to be something different than what the Rust mentality is. Rust is the game, this is the community. How about we just stop being dicks to each other all the time? I know, it's a foreign concept, but isn't it worth a shot? Maybe the lack of communication is due to the fact that every time Garry and Maurino have come in here to talk to us, they've been flamed or are responding to flame threads calling them idiots about how they're developing their game.

There is a massive age difference most of the times. Kids of 11 are playing this,
and people of 40+ are playing this.
Most of the time people think they know it better, they are awesome and the other people are just "noobs"

I agree with the age divide. I'd assume it's the younger kids that are rude, don't understand sarcasm, and really have no social skills. This forum is like a continuation of them KOS and trash talking in game.
Most of my threads are light hearted and fun, but I'd say more targeted at the mature crowd that gets dry humor. It seems half flame me, the other half actually go along with the topic and play along. There is definitely a divide.

Yeah I unfortunately have to agree. It is really too bad because people who are aiming to improve the game and not make the forums an extension of it, are really being drowned out by negativity and flame wars.

Oh I'm not complaining about the game. The game is great fun, unfinished obviously, but a great foundation to build on. I'm complaining about the forums, the community, the people who come together to discuss the game and what not. This forum is overflowing with trolls. If hackers are the bane of Rust, then the trolls are surely the bane of the community. I would rate them at about the same level for the damage they are doing to this game.

I truly never understood this but its been a stigmatism in games for years. I could never figure out why an industry that essentially is 95% guys doing a giant circle jerk wouldn't want to even out male to female ratio..... call me crazy I guess.
Getting back to the topic, you just need to find the older half that isn't trying to measure their epean and pownage to validate their existence. Most of the people I actually team up with are on the older side, more mature side, and we have a great time. Like anything there is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Just gotta weed out the bad and ugly.

Oldest player i have seen on this game is 58. Even my 69 year old grandfather played all the mass effects, and fallout 3 & new vegas

This is exactly what I'm talking about. These forums are not the game. This isn't Rust. We're normal people here who want to play a fantastic game right? I agree, Rust has in it, the elements of epic trollness. That is a part of the game, it is there. It shouldn't be a part of the community. Out here, we should be a COMMUNITY. Our interest in this is that we all want Rust to succeed and be fun, and we may not agree on how that should be done, but why do we have to flame and troll and be dicks about it? Look at the threads on this forum and the way people talk to each other. There is no civility. This isn't the game. This is real life. The fact that the game is a trollfest should have no bearing on how the community interacts.
It's also surprisingly funny that some of the forum users haven't figured out that a dumb rating from them is a badge of honor.

That's going to be true with any game, and any game has a certain amount of trash-talking. That's in the game. I'm strictly talking about here in the forums. We don't need trash-talking out here. We need a cooperative spirit and we need to be mature enough to set aside our in-game personas when we come here to discuss Rust's development. I think we can all afford to be better gamesmen (and women!)

Like so many other replys stated, that will never happen. The age difference, the nature of the game. It's all primed for trolls. I try to make the best of it and look for older players so I can actually enjoy the game. Or try to help out younger players so they learn you don't always have to be a jerk to get ahead in a game. It's all really in how you approach it, but sadly we'll never be fully rid of the trolls and hackers who ruin it for the rest of us.

I signed up to share my videos. My youtube account is of the same name (a much better picture because it's actually me, but I had to change it here). But because my name isn't "SpookzKill187", I am here to date, be singled out, and trolled. Hilarious. Again, sorry mclmrtn.
I don't think it was a derail more of proof to the point he was trying to make. Non the less I have found the forums have gotten way more crotchety in the last month due to the lack of content updates / patches. When there is more to game to actually talk about I find the forums are more calm, however when the community is in a dry spell foaming at the mouth for a content update, the claws come out as there is nothing better to do then to troll.
I think at the end of the day, we all want the best Rust we can get. We don't get that by carrying our game mentality to the forums and poisoning the community's well.

the problem is in the way u are acting. you are applying certain features of your character to being a FEMALE. sure, some features can be found in women, but I doubt your personal preferences have anything to do with that. you are basically endorsing and creating stereotypes. and you come on the forum saying: hey anyone wants to play with me?
