Research a Research Kit! (not sure if that's supposed to! but it works) - Rust

Basicly when you drag your Research kit over another Reasearch Kit, it will tell you that this is not possible. However, And I don't know why, and if It's old news, but.. for some reason, when you hold SHIFT while doing the same thing (dragging a Kit over a Kit) it tells you "You can now craft a Research Kit" This ment to be? I can also confirm this. I run a server with RustPP though. It's quite expensive to craft though at 20 leather and 20 LQM.

Nah, it is 20 Low quality Metal and 20 Leather I believe, Im definately NOT trolling. haha

I did this on 2 servers, it does work. Sometimes it even will give you a stacked kit with 1-3 uses. Since they take 20 LQM[300 metal frags] we would sell them on a server for 600 making 50% profit everytime. When you have 2 kits hold right shift while you click and drag the kit over the other kit. If you do it correctly a message saying "You can now craft Research kit 1".

I own all the gear now.

Yeah, there's a possibiliy to get 1-5 Research kits when you craft it!

I hope this ain't a bug and is intended. And if it's not intended at least keep it in. It's a real pain in the ass finding kits, and I feel the resources required to craft them make it fair.

Yeah im pretty sure this isn't a bug, pretty sure this was listed in a past changelog, and why else would they even make a costly crafting recipe for it? Not only that, but in the future when they implement the new Researching System it will take around 4-5 research kits to fully research a gun, thus maybe why they're making them craftable, but very costly in the long run. EDIT: I think the only bug is it still showing the message that "You cannot resarch this item!". You can also tell that they still need to change the description of it as well, because it no longer requires paper to research at all anymore.

Didn't seem to get any message from the drag & drop but the Shift; drag & drop worked.

Yeah I can confirm this on a vanilla server. The cost is quiet high tho. Its 20 low quality metal and 20 leather. But it can be done. You just have to hold the right shift key when dragging the research kit on top of the other one. I can only assume the shift key must be held otherwise it think its just trying to place another item in that slot. So by holding the shift key its telling the research kit to learn it instead of just try to move there.

Craftable research kits are quite useful but at the current droprate not really needed. Anyone tested this on a Supply Signal?

It works, 20LQM and 20leather RKs are easy to find anyway

I left after I saw this occur, as I don't want any part of such a shady server. Kool's idea of Rust is hanging out in a massive base that the admin spawned them materials for, shooting bambi's with a bolt action and then crying the moment anyone lands a hit on him. A whiney fucking goof that shouldn't have anything to do with sandbox pvp.
