Recently I bought Rust for $49 (£36) and from the moment I have received the game and created an account I have been unable to connect to the servers. I have not received an error message but I get a message in the top left corner of the screen stating that I have failed connection to the server and that it is going to try again in 10 seconds. Earlier I allowed this to run for a couple of hours and the same message was displayed (Failed 530 time(s) -- retrying in 10 seconds). I have been looking forward to purchasing and playing this game and It would be a waste if I was unable to play it so if there is any possible solutions It would be greatly appreciated if you could share them with me here.
As for the error itself I have been unable to find any solutions as of yet however I have attempted to use different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer), rebooting my laptop multiple times, Trying to access all three servers (which wields the same result), testing my download/ upload speed (Download: 23Mb/s Upload 18Mb/s) and I have also tried logging out and back in, as this seems to work in some cases.
I am not sure if I am the only person who is experiencing this issue but as a student £36 is not too easy to come by and all solutions for this issue are welcome and shall be tested. If a fix becomes available in the meantime I will post here and give the link to the original article/ forum post which provided the fix.

This has been happening to me for the past 3 hours as well
Servers have some problems atm. If you wanna play now NoPVP seems to work fine. :)
Where is the image file? my antivirus detected it as malware.
Yea, I've been experiencing it for 2 days now and it's always the same. I've just tried the NoPVP server and so far i'm having no luck.

They are having problems with the servers. People are duping items and building huge structures that are lagging the server and causing problems with the server. They said they are gonna try to fix that today. This game is in alpha and is expected to have problems. I know i have had my share of problems with this game but its a very earlier stage of this game.
I am aware of that and I know it's a possibility however it's still always a good idea to let them know if you do discover an issue because you never really know if its a glitch or just caused by server issues :)

They did so last time so I would bet they'll wipe again this time.
So, as I haven't played the game yet how would people describe it? Is it as good as it is portrayed to be or is it better?

As long as noone uses some kind of bugs (like duping and stuff) its even better than I thought :) so much fun. The only disadvantage right now is that I get to little sleep :(

Sounds good, I always liked Gary's mod and as soon as I heard about this I had my doubts with it being such a change but after seeing it advertised all over Youtube and watching a few videos on it I must say that I am quite impressed and i'm sure it will be worth the £36 I payed for it.

I'm a marine Engineering Officer in training. I'm 16 yes. I go to University, do you? I don't know many 16 year olds in University mind, do you?. And yes I was down at the bar, you see the thing about University is that everyone else is 20+ so I do hang around with people who go to bars.
Don't believe that i go to University? Well don't, I don't mind, i get paid to be here and get to travel the world as a Job rather than sitting on a forum talking to a 16 year old (that's 20 years younger than you) about him not having a life. Anyway, my US PVE connection has been down for a day or so. It's failed 600x.. And no, I didn't go outside--not that it should matter to anyone here.
The EU PVE is also down for me, except I can't even see this option in the Play Game menu. Only the non-PVE works, except I HATE non-PVE because people keep trapping others with doors/walls and then they are lighting C4 under their ass, killing them, and stealing all their shit.
It's quite funny, but making it impossible to "relax" in this supposed-to-be laid back server.. =/
Mine still isn't working although my friends are able to access the game
