Why not put a new reload feature in the game? Like you hold "R" to reload and it takes a little longer to put the mag back in your pocket, or in a fire fight you can tap "R" and it will drop the mag on the ground? I think that would be a really cool and original feature in rust!
And preparing mags before fight, like if u have only bullet in invetory and u press R u pull out a mag and put bullet in it and then load it into the gun, would be cool.

Interesting idea. It could certainly help to put unprepared M4 wielders on the same level as those using the makeshift weapons like the pipe shotgun. Maybe you could even require spare clips to be crafted separately from an M4 (or other clip based weapons.) It could start drifting into the area of "too realistic" with these ideas though. Especially if the spare clips started taking up separate inventory slots for each increment of remaining bullets.

Ah, so they had already tried it. It's certainly no surprise to me that such a mechanic would feel "really clunky" as Helk was saying in that thread though. While the idea seems interesting, it's one of those that's difficult to implement without it crossing that "too realistic" threshold.
