It's not doing anything when I double click on servers.

So recently I was gifted Rust and wanted to play it as soon as I got it. I soon found out that there were problems with connecting to servers. I understand it is in Alpha but I'm a bit worried... It appears that I'm the only one encountering this. When I double click on a server nothing loads or pops up. The server remains highlighted for a brief second and I'm still at the server list screen. I don't see the errors you guys are getting because I can't even reach/connect to the server it seems.
Yeah the same thing happens to me sometimes. Try clicking on it like a madman, instead of double clicking, do a 20 click, and soon as you switch to that tab, and sometimes that works.

Last time I checked, this was the Rust forum.
Haha, no it doesn't work for me as much as I mass click it. :( Kind of relieving that someone has faced a similar problem as me...

Yeah... It's Rust. That was my bad.
I tried disabling the steam overlay, didn't fix it :(
Yeah, I think the only thing we can do is bring awareness to this thread so they can help resolve this issue... :I
It also doesn't work for clicking on "Ping" to re-order the list, or for the refresh button
I usually triple-click, fixes it for me.
Also, message Helk about this, he never reads threads but when I asked him to help me with a bug in a private message, he quickly replied
Unfortunately as much as I click it, it will not load anything. I will message this guy.
Oh, I found a workaround, if you're using windowed mode change your window size around and then maximize and then it works

Going to try that out. Because I'm having the exact same problem as xharena...
This doesn't work for me :(
I am getting this problem as well. Usually when i open up the game everything is fine and try to connect to a server by double clicking it, the game then proceeds the the connecting screen. However once here it just sits on connecting. I press escape and then try to join another server but nothing happens. I think this maybe two problems or bugs, the connection part and the not being able to do anything once getting out of the connection screen.
I'll try that workaround Glargenflarge, but the non connecting problem is a real pain as well. hopefully the last update has fixed it.

It didn't work for me either...

Same problem here. Tried everything suggested! Help!
Message Helk and see if you get a resolve!
I have the exact same problem.
I bought Rust yesterday and since I started it the first time I couldn't doubleclick to connect on any community server.
It works fine on the official servers and I think its because of the lag I get.
Whenever he has finished loading all the server, in the community tab the game is lagging (around 15 fps?)
so maybe thats why the game can't register a doubleclick. I tried spamming clicks, tried window mode, tried resizing etc. nothing helps
I could only connect via console but since you can't see the server IPs from the lobby... no way for me to connect to a community server :(
//update: spamming mouseclicks suddenly worked... I guess I just got lucky

Well, got up this morning to see if it works now. I spammed mouseclicks for a good 2 minutes and nothing...I really hope
I can find a fix for this because this game looks amazing.
I was clever enough to write down the ip from the server so for future uses I just connect via console and the net.connect command

Could you explain how you go about using your method? Because I really want to start playing this
game and it seems that no one has found a solution yet.
Ok here is what I found out:
- I am pretty sure the lag when you view the fully loaded community list prevents the game from recognizing our doubleclicks correctly
- Try to doubleclick on a community server as soon as possible, when the list of servers is still loading.
Since the list is loading, the lag just starts to increase and therefore doubleclick should work. You will likely only be able to join a random server since the list grows very fast so searching and clicking a specific server while the list loads is impossible
- Another option is to spam mouseclicks very fast. I held my mouse with one hand and then rapidly clicked with the other... usually this works but you may have to keep clicking for a while until it finally works (try 30 seconds of rapid clicking if your hand can handle it. (PS: there are programs who can simulate mouseclicks. For example, try using the 30-day-trial of "MurGee Auto Mouse Click" it is an easy to use program and may help because it can spam those clicks faster than every human)
- Also try to start the game in windowed mode, this helped some ppl. You can toggle fullscreen/window mode by hitting Alt + Enter (works in many programs btw)
- Once you are connecting, hit F1 to bring up the console and write down the IP adress of the server
(looks like 123.456.789.123:81020 etc.)
- Next time you want to connect to this server, simply open the console while in the main menu (F1) and type net.connect and the ip you wrote down (for example: net.connect 123.456.789.123:81020) and hit enter
I have this exact same problem. Thing is, double-clicking on any server in my History tab works just fine. It's anything in the Official, Community, and Modded tab that just does not work for me anymore. I've tried all these methods listed here, but they don't work. I'm thinking it must be some sort of bug for certain users, because it was working just fine for me two days back. Then just suddenly it wouldn't let me log in to any server that wasn't already in my history.

funny... official servers work fine for me.. I didn't try history yet but as far as I know its only happening in the community tab and this it the only tab I got this lag whenever the list gets too big.
I'm also wondering why it is lagging and if it is really the lag that is causing this problem.
I have also the problem that my graphics card gets too hot ingame and I think this is caused by no frame limit thus causing the card to always run at maximum.
I tried forcing vSync via nVidia control center but it didn't help.
Maybe we can find something we have in common that let us trackback the problem so I will post some system specs to compare:
- Running an EVGA nVidia GTX 580 slightly OC'ed (by EVGA not by me)
- Driver is 320.49
- Using Windows 7 64-Bit
I can't think of any other factors/hardware that may be responsible for this wierd lag in the community tab other than "software/driver" problems.
I will go and see if there is a newer driver, maybe this changes something.

Hello all.
I've found a workaround.
Press F1 and type: net.disconnect
After that it'll log in. At least, it worked for me.
Best,
