So.. I'm not sure what has changed - might have been worth a message to registered users of the game or something ??? Firstly all my saved servers have gone from the favourites - the 'Steam' KB advice of clearing your cache to resole a game issue I'm sure - in hindsight - did this - thanks, no really that's great. Any idea how you find the remote server you once played on??? Also my own server - as far as I can tell - isn't even showing up in the list. I notice that there are no servers listed with colours and/or special characters??
I notice that there are no servers listed with colours and/or special characters??
Yup. That's entirely deliberate. Thanks for not looking at any of the other threads about the post-patch problems, most of which are on the front page of this very forum. Also, thanks for not looking at the game's official website, playrust.com, to see if anything's changing in this alpha in active development.
Why bother looking at anything when I can post here and get some decent sarcasm :D I don't do Twitter and didn't realise that was the official game website - so thanks for that. With regards to the post which is 14 hours old, I was on 3 hours prior trying to be 'helpful' posting a solution to the failed 'upgrade'. SOLUTION - For when all else failed with screenies just to make it nice and simple. cheers.

A little planning and advance notice of the change would have given server owners time to change names before abruptly disappearing from the list with no explanation. After getting the first update to Rust in three months, are we're supposed to dig through Garry's Twitter, Trello, personal forums, and trash bin to learn that suddenly colors and symbols will not work in server names? How about some actual patch notes or advance warning that yup, most Rust servers need their name changed? Colors and symbols in server names is such a non-issue that it's astonishing it would get any attention, when there are so many actual game-breaking bugs that could use a quick fix. Given how buggy Rust has always been, who thought it would be a good idea to just randomly move it from Unity 4.0 to 4.5 without major testing and code fixes?

Wait a few months for the experimental to be feature complete. Things are looking real good right now and when it is done it will no doubt be a significant upgrade.
If legacy is dead, we didn't need yesterday's update to fuck things up. Plenty of people are still enjoying it, many of us don't plan on going to the new branch.
As I have written in other posts if they cared about legacy they would implement proper file validation so you couldn't change one letter in notepad and then shoot, see and place sleeping bags through walls. Along with this they could implement something to stop barricade pillar exploit. Just these two changes would make long term play more viable but as things stand now I'm happy just waiting for the experimental to be feature complete.

And no, you don't have to go digging through information to find what you're looking for, twitter and trello are pretty straightforward. You're part of an alpha build, if you want to know what's happening with development, read the dev blogs, read their twitter, view their trello, they spend time putting info out on those mediums instead of putting that time to game development so we know what's happening. Would you like a personal email from Garry or something? It's not a failure to communicate when the user simply says, "I don't do Twitter." Pining for information and then ignoring it when presented with it or wiping your ass with it isn't something they should have to cater to, imho.
