I was playing the game a few months ago (maybe more than a few) on highest graphics settings and it ran just fine now I've checked the game out again and the game is unplayable on highest and still lilttle laggy on lowest settings. It still runs on same unity right? Happened to any old rust player who got back to the game aswell? I run most new games on high rarely medium settings so the problem isnt my pc, it kinda sucks 7dtd is fkin boring and Dayz laggy (shitty arma 2) so rust used to be the only good survival game for me and now rust is gone aswell anyway thanks for all answers
Well use ccleaner and clean youre internet browser.
Hey, have you turned filtering to 'off' instead of 'forced on' ?
For me that bought me literally 50 fps
I should make a thread for this but I get amazing fps when I use the Opera web browser, before I tried firefox and chrome and was still getting pretty shitty fps with those. Try Opera and see if it helps.

Edit: So I tried rust on opera and it helped only a bit but I'm still getting weird lag spikes when I'm sprinting, quickly turning around and especially during gunfights.
Anyone knows any other way how to boost fps/get rid of lag spikes in rust?
Helk how do i do that

Use common sense.
Seriously though, press ESC > Options > Texture Filtering > Off

Enable GPU acceleration on opera, via nvidia control panel or catalyst.
i have noticed huge laggs lately. i had no lagg before but now its almost unplayable when in gunfights.. get like freeze laggs for a half sec all the time... and no its not my pc that is bad my friends gets the same thing.
EDIT: I realy look forward for Standalone client. has to be a huge preformance increase.

As the servers get more full of stuff ( objects and buildings ) it can get a bit laggy when your client gets that info. We're still optimizing that part of it and as far as standalone goes it wont have much of a performance increase vs. webplayer.
