Players Hating the Admin... - Rust

This might be an usual one as its normally player complaining about bad admins but... I'm getting so much abuse from a couple of guys because they tried to raid my house and i killed them so then they thought it would be a good idea to completely abuse be because apparently i spawn stuff in to kill them which i didn't and i have never done in my sever. They were saying stuff like I'm a twat I should get Cancer I hope i die I should get raped I just want people to stop blaming the admins for stuff they haven't done... There is "Badmins" but not everyone is...

The best admins are the ones who don't try to interfere with someone elses gameplay, including raiding. You're asking for trouble, being a known admin and still trying to actively play as a general member of a server. Just my two cents.

I'm don't want to sound like a dick by saying that but i don't like the idea that i can't play like a normal player because i pay more money for people to play... :/ I barley use the command apart from "status" but from my own experience of being one. If you don't do anything you get blamed for being a Badmin if you do somthing you get blame for being a Badmin I just want to play the Game like everyone else with out getting threatened for somone to come round my house and kill me (I know it won't happen but its still not nice)

There is two types of servers. Servers that have rules and a certain way to play, then there are severs that are run by friends who all may or may not contribute money to the server and are using the server for fun and to cheat/mess around. And depending on what server you go on will determine what sort of admin you will have.

I am an admin ... I have told everyone they are happy to raid my home!! It's well protected, but kudos to the one who gets in! Now .. I also said that atm, I will not raid! I will do this at a later point, but I want ppl to get to know me, that I do not cheat, do not use admin tools or help .. or anything. I've helped out many players .. but everytime, they need to explain where they are, cuz I don't TP! People started to realize this now, and keep saying that all I do is legit! I died at RadTown .. and another player was there! He grabbed all my gear, and was a happy player! I could not do anything about it! Grinded gear and weapons, back at the zombies!!! Filled 2 bags. 3rd round I died .. again another player was there. He grabbed all items! As I ..again grinded to make new gear, he came up to my place, and gave it all to me with the words: " As I know you work just as us, and don't spawn your gear, I want to give it all back to you!" Now .. when I start raiding now, they know I will do it legit! .. all tho .. I still haven't gotten explosives .. so I can't make c4 yet lol....

I just don't like how the I can't play the game the same way everyone else does because if i do i get blamed for spawning something in or doing some admin magic which i would never do... I just want people to stop blaming admins for playing the game.

And there will be certain ways to playing like some severs speed up crafting time. Some people would rather just build than gather stuff or if people want to be creative like create tasks for other players to complete like "beat the admin". Me personally I only want to cheat once which is to teleport rather then have the hassle to find someone Im playing with and then play honestly for the rest of the time. There are some things that is part of the experience but for some is just annoying a ruins the main mechanic of the game which for rust is survival

I feel a bit of an arse saying this but i feel that im now defending myself... I'm an admin as well and typically have 15-25 people on my server. Some come and go, others stay, some rage quit. I play fairly and treat everyone with respect. I help anyone I come across and always try a friendly non violent approach but I still kill players, hunt players, rob people, and do everything everyone else does. I've set up a checkpoint on my server and act as a scripted npc sometimes requesting a toll to pass. You gotta make it fun for people. Don't take a few people making rude comments to heart. Some people are just bad sports.

There is "Badmins" but not everyone is...[/QUOTE] it's YOUR server they can go fuck themselves, ban them all and let them cry. your server is your house they are your guests. if you don't like the admin of a server fuck off, quit bitching and play somewhere else. they paid for it, you didn't so you can fuck right off with your complaints and whining if you go and accidentally mess with the admins house fine, but if you intentionally/knowingly do it i see nothing wrong with that admin griefing the living fuck out of you until you leave THEIR server and then perma banning you. that is their playground not yours

Great idea. On a serious note, just tell them if they think they've been treat wrongly/been abused; leave and play else where. That's all I say, don't forget a lot of kids will be playing here and we all know how they get upset when things dont go the way they want. If you wasn't an admin, they would call you a hacker. They're not happy unless they've killed you. Simple as that.

There are always going to be people who blame the admin for everything. There's absolutely no way around it. You just gotta be the adult, say "dude chill out" and if they don't then just banhammer their asses. No need to make a scene, just get them outta there lol. As far as playing goes, averagely intelligent people can get an idea of whether an admin is trustworthy by how they handle themselves in chat. If you're clear and forthright about things that you're doing in the game, people will know you're legit. I don't play in my server really anymore, but when I did I told everyone in chat whenever I turned godmode on or off, I dropped all my items at home in chests, and went out in invisible armor pretty much all the time so people didn't waste ammo on me when I was just out "admining." Quite a handful of people have blamed me for all sorts of different things, and goddamnit if I get one more Steam message about this or that hacker (who is obviously not a hacker.....). So yea, just get rid of those people and be done with it.

in case of being a douche bag against me as an admin, ban. No exceptions.

So you come here make a whole thread about how mean these kids are to you ... seriously whats your point? That not all admins are evil? Ohnonoes I want it to stop so I make a thread here and all my problems will go away? Grow up please. There will always be people who get mad about pretty much everything once they are on the loosing end. As soon as you put up a server of your own you start to accept these things and have to deal with them in some way. You can ignore it, you can ban them, you can close down the server again, or any other of the many possible options. If you don't like that, you can always wait a little longer till there are more options to make the server private to avoid such problems. Otherwise live with it. These whine threads are just annoying, no matter if its about ebil ebil admins or about ebil ebil players or about ebil ebil hackers.

I know, its terrible. I just wanted to provide a modded server where I was active and I could ban hackers. Anytime someone that doesnt know me and I kill/raid them I get an "Admin Abuse". It is so ridiculous. One person that doesn't know what the fuck they are talking about and other people think that I am cheating. It almost makes me want to not even play my server because if I do anything I will get accused of cheating. I farmed for 4 days to make a shitty metal base and people accuse me of spawning it in. I live in resource valley, and I've been raided twice... I feel that I am providing a really good server with the mods that I have installed. Reduced C4 drops and increased the chance of getting building supplies. People love it and then some twat dies to me at an airdrop and I am suddenly an admin abuser, and they and two other gullible people leave the server. Sickening.
