• Rust Ported to Console's in the future? No?

Maybe in the future do you think rust could be ported to a next gen console such as Ps4 or XBone -cough- Xbox one? I don't think I've seen a thread like this so if there is one please lock this one. But anyway, I'm thinking maybe if garry changes the engine from Unity to something else could this make its way to a console if its successful? Just think about it, some people can't play this game on a laptop ( Im currently in that situation :/), but if they had a gaming console they could just kick their feet up and play ! :D. Please give your opinions on this. Constructive criticism is welcomed just no "OmG Im l33t th4t would be stupid!! -hurr durr-" Please none on that.
Oh god no.
If it does happen, it won't be for a very, very long time. I suggest no one worries about a console port, mainly because we should wait until the PC version is even ready to be considered for a console release. I don't suspect it even happening though.
consoles don't have steam and steam has all the features that garry needs (a shop to sell the game, drm, steampipe, etc)
Only if Unity is ported.

I'm guessing changing the engine like you said doesn't just happen like that, and seeing how it's an early alpha console ports are a very distant thing. However who knows, as an Arcade PSN small indie-game I could see it happening. But I demand most love for us PC gamers!
It is?
Then I imagine it should be possible, and as the Xbone and PS4 are running traditional x86 CPUs I don't imagine it would be all that difficult (relatively speaking).
The playability won't even come close to the PC's version. Menu scrolling I can see would be a huge fucking pain. I like clicking through Rust's menu's, because it's easy access and it's a long list. I don't want to have to keep scrolling 1 by 1 up and down Rust's crafting menu. Also, when I'm in a hurry to kill a guy after I respawn, I want to just be able to drag and drop a gun into my inventory and chase him down. I don't want to have to select the gun with the controller, and then move it all the way back into my inventory and place it down. Accessibility is something people rarely think about in console ports. Also, turn on/off laser sight, ADS, turn on/off flashlight. That already takes up 3 of the controller's already limited button layouts. Terrible controls would fuck up Rust so bad. This is an alpha, and almost every single button would have been used up on a controller. And let me tell you, I switch my flashlight on and off a lot and this is going to result in my changing items constantly if you placed on/off on the d-pad. In my opinion, it just wouldn't be comfortable to use a controller to play a game like Rust. The controller is too imprecise. Having a controller I can see would cause players to end up picking up sleeping bags by accident in small houses, picking up wrong items, shooting a teammate, etc. You need the precision of a mouse to get those small things. The controller simply doesn't feel right. In Fallout 3, it was hard to pick up things that required fine movements because I kept on overshooting it. The sensitivity could be lowered, but then in combat I aimed way too slow. You also need the mouse to get through Rust's menus, it would be tedious as fuck to do it with a controller. All the fireplace sorting, inventory moving, menu scrolling. And I doubt the devs would even want to deal with console issues anyways.

But I think that Garry will keep this game to the PC (Idk if this is compatible for mac) So, I'd have to say no.
XBone -cough- Xbox one?
cough ? cough?? cough ??????? your fingers got a cold, and they feel dizzy, so you can't control them ,and they wrote xbox one wrong in the first place, then they went nuts and typed cough before you were able to take back control of your own movements to finally write xbox one correctly?
