Hello Garry & the other Rust Developers. Hello Rust Community.
Unfortunately , there is still a way to dupe your Items / PlayerInventory in Rust.
I encountered this (per accident) yesterday.
I raided a big Base on our server, in the so called "Hacker Valley".
The amount of loot i found inside of that Base was UNREAL for me. so i had a faint suspicion. Either that there is still a working Dupe Bug, or That a Admin is
Abusing his Admin Powers. In Total i found something like : 5k Animal Fat , 5k Cloth , 5k Leather , 1000 explosives , and alot of other stuff.
So after that raid, i did some research, to check if there is still a way to dupe. After some hours of research & trying , unfortunately my suspicion got confirmed.
It is unfortunately still possible to dupe.
How to do it :
Press f1 , type :"net.disconnect" into the Console (dont press enter yet). pull your network cable out, so you lose your internet connection.
press enter. put your network cable back inside , so you get your internet connection back. now press enter.
now type into the console "net.reconnect".
usually when you log in , your Character & His inventory will be 2x on the Server. The actual Player and your "Old self". the old one is usually invisible to yourself you can only kill him with
for example a c4. or another Player has to kill him , because he isnt invisible to him.
when done you get 2x your player inventory. Which means you Duped.
Some People will hate me for that Thread , because so far with every dupe bug there was server wipes.
some people may ask , why do i post this in the Forum for the public , so everybody can see it?
First of all , this is an Alpha and as a Alpha Player i see it as my Duty to report every Bug i'll encounter (and i did report every bug i am aware of, to Garry via E-mail).
I really want this to be fixed as soon as possible. The last Dupe Bug which got posted here in the Public Forum, the Developers reacted immediately and fixed it asap , which i liked and which is the result
i am aiming for. You never can be sure , if someone is abusing this or not. i want fair play and fair fights, i dislike abuse of bugs like this. Right now i have 0 motivation to keep on playing
Rust like this , until this bug gets fixed. I Feel sorry for players (like myself) which dont abuse bugs and play fair, which will suffer by a server wipe , sorry guys but i want this to be fixed
and every honest player will hopefully agree with my decision .

no he didn't, he posted this on a PUBLIC FORUM he should message garry directly, now everyone knows how to do it and it will be abused heavily.

There has to be a full wipe. Doesnt matter if he post it here or direct to garry. There has to come the wipe so or so...

Needless to say , i reported this bug before doing this Thread to Garry directly. Either way , it has to be fixed and it has to be fixed as soon as possible. In my opinion a Server Rollback wont Cut it. There is no telling for how long this Bug is being abused. So or so ,there has to be Server Wipes when this get's fixed. I explained my Reasons for posting this here on the Public Forum very well , and like i said every honest player should understand them and agree with them. After all this is an Alpha , no need to complain.
I have an unreal amount of crap on the server that I play on and I don't dupe.
If you play a lot and have a good base it just stacks to the ceiling.
Only idiots looking for their 5 minutes post dupe bugs so publicly. "User was banned for this post".
They should wipe items, inventory, structures but not schematics learned. Duping doesn't help you learn anything new.

The Bad part is, that this happen to ppls they dont want to abuse this bug. I got many nvidia driver crashes also random freezes where my screen went black, sound is messed up and the pc is restarting. After reconnect i saw my second me and could kill him.
So even if you dont want to use that s*** it can happen to such ppls like me with this error :(

Sorry to hear about your crashes mate. Hopefully you can play crash- & freez- free very soon. That's just another reason , why this Bug has to get fixed as soon as possible.
I totally agree with you Serium and want this glitch to be fixed asap. Doesn't matter if u abuse bugs like that or not, but when people know duping is possible and you for example raid their base with bout 20 c4, you will for sure get called f****ng duper and stuff luck that which is definetly no fun at all. Just want a nice atmosphere in the game and fair fights. Greetings PeekZ :)

Exactly. It just totally takes away the whole fun of the Game, when it comes to raiding & collecting Items / Loot.

That's probably due to overheated GPU or Bios not being up-to-date :)

This cant be dude. My BIOS is up to date and the temperature on CPU is 60-65°C and on the Graphic Card 70-72°C. So this looks really normal for me and i got this temperature on other games too and no crashes ever ^^.
I cannot even begin to state how incredible stupid it is to yet again to guide people how to do the dupe. - Send the steps to Helk, Pat or Garry and leave it alone untill they fix it. By now a lot of servers will be needing a wipe because of this.
I know it's an alpha, but seriously, come on. All the kids in this game atm can't handle a dupe, they will spasm if they get kevlar set times 2.
Trolling the maturity of the game aside, please don't do steps on dupe to the public, send it to the devs and do not exploit it.
And well, here we go again....

Hi :D! Aight, hmm that's strange cause I've had the same problem as you had, are you really really certain your BIOS are up-to-date? The screen goes black for you and a sound starts repeating itself and then after awhile the computer restarts itself right?

Op thx for this post. I hope this threat help devs to make asap fix and wipe all servers.
+1 for wipe, either there would be a lot of dupe stuff on any server.
