Someone knocks down first floor stair and puts ceiling in its place. 2 c4 puts base out of commision.

This is EXACTLY what I was gonna say.
Make 2 foundations lines around the base full with pillars, not just in the middle and make them higher then the base, this way they cant go up with barricades, they just can skip to the second floor.
Want extra security? Make a circle around your house with Gateways and then random foundations outside the gateways filled with pilars 4 high.
Extra tip: fill all the walls with large wood storage, will confuse raiders.
