• As a solo player, I have a hard time with the "end game".

What I mean is, what do I do after I've gotten everything I wanted? I have a secure house, keypads on everything, all the blueprints I wanted, paintings are painted, etc. I'm not an aggressive player, so raiding other players just to weaken them isn't in my game plan, especially when other players usually have groups they play with and could probably recover faster than I could. I just don't have a goal to work toward. Once I'm safe in my house with enough supplies to last me forever, what else do I do?
Go help other newbies. Foil a raid. Help someone raid. Explore the monuments. Give tours of the monuments. Open a trading post. Set up a shooting range. Set up and obstacle course.
As a solo player on modded servers I often find myself in these same situations. Due to the new proc gen maps it has increasingly been more difficult to place a well hidden base. So I make a few small bases and scatter them around the map to ensure if one gets raided that I have a back up. Once that is achieved I begin my smokescreen base. This is generally NOT armored and either wood or stone with no doors or locks. Make it open and inviting. When I'm doing that I only carry supplies that I need to build. I carry no weapons and invite people to check it out. Usually it's a motel, store or town. This way people think that is what I invest my time with
I make sponge bases. They're made to look big and juicy. They got the stone walls and gates and little hints of opulence like a little bit of armoured wall poking out somewhere to imply there's a loot room just right there. Gotta make sure to have at least a quarry and a large furnace for credibility. I make them uncomfortable and complicated to navigate. stairs, and now folding ladders, all over the place weaving through the honeycomb. I make sure I got me a big fancy phallic sniper tower. Just so they know where it is. I place signs in loot rooms with numbers on them that don't match any of the locks on anything. holes in upper floors with empty chests below. Go ahead jump down and get it, make sure you brought enough c4 to get out. Then I use this palace to store all of my leather, pork and bone fragments and watch it soak up all the c4 and rockets big groups like to make while I humbly go about my business. It's one way to live. As for my regular base I just do tiny shacks as hidden as I can to do my smelting and crafting in then I keep all my loot in stashes. Never once lost anything in a stash, really can't see the point in chests. That's a different subject though. End game? if you're not aggressive it's hard to say. I've had mixed results as a trader. Mostly you get a lot of folk c4ing your shop all the time for the loot you're too smart to leave in the shop when your gone. If you keep it small though it's not really a burden. A fun one I've been meaning to do is easter egg/scavanger hunt with maps and stashes. I want to litter a forest with stashes that contain maps to the next stash with little prizes along the way. Maybe to make it interesting I could makes it contain choices. One road leads to a big cool goodie, the other ends in a mine field below my sniper nest. Or you could just do what every other shit head is doing and draw dicks everywhere.

Or... make Newman Trap Houses(3 storey buildings with twig floor over jail cells and spikes on the first floor, always twig floors over cells no traps or spikes in case you want to keep the Newman's). Build a three story building, Outside stairs going going up to the second floor door. No doors or windows on the first floor. Stone walls all around, HQ metal if you want. Build jail cells or lay traps, mines or my fave the barb wire racks, place these on the first floor. Twig floor/ceiling between first and second floor, its easier and quicker to destroy. You could even hit them once or twice to have them very ready to destruct that way one bullet will definitely destroy the twig floor and have the Newman's fall to the next floor. Stone floor/ceiling between second and third floor with one or two floor holes(or twig floors), build a sniper nest in third floor, paint a huge Swastika on the front and inside, watch as Newman's froth at the mouth to take down a Evil Nazi and destroy the Evil Nazi's home. Make sure you always do the signs last. Hide in your sniper nest, Shoot the twig floor from under them when they come inside, they'll fall to the jail cells or onto traps, watching them writhe around on barb wire racks is particularly amusing. They wont really be paying attention to the floor or they're surroundings just the sign, it will be the first thing they go to because of their urge to destroy the sign. You could put boxes full of human skulls and charcoal just for that extra touch of Evil.:dead:
