I dont know why, maybe any restriction to mods ?
if there is no restriction would be nice to see a server with sniper scope e.e
Client-side mods will typically get you VAC banned, at this point. Server-side mods can't add models to the client.
do you realize dumb they would be? people would just camp big house or rad zones and kos all day to get gear. snipers scopes would ruin this game. maybe a 4x acog sight wouldnt be bad but still. people would camp with that

Gameplay is going to be changed a lot in the experimental, its not dumb at all.
With all of the changes going on, having snipers in-game wouldn't be a bad idea- they will fit it in a good way.
Considering Rust's current weapons design seems to be makeshift weapons and homemade weapons like the pipe shotgun (all the military gear in the game is stock Unity Store assets as placeholders, and is going to be quite rare or removed entirely in the future), it seems like making and grinding and polishing lenses might be a bit of a reach, or something that would be very much endgame.
Also, this isn't DayZ, the point isn't to snipe people from the next mountain over.

And you say it as the developer of the game?
How can you be so sure they will never want to fit in to the game the sniping element :/ (even if it would be "endgame")
they have talked about it a bit saying that shooting people from extream distances isnt their way of having this game made. they want survivors to get close and inter act with eachother they want to have people forge alliances face to face not shot in the back from 300 m away

Alright, thats more reasonable.. I hope that there will be lots of new ways to interact with survivors.. as example I really liked that you can wave with your hand in DayZ and stuff like that..
Also, it seems right now everybody just killing on sight and the survival's aspect of the game is really bad :/

That's because the game is in alpha and there's practically nothing to do. The devs consider the legacy Rust build to be about 15% of the way towards what they want to have in the game. There's little content: there are very few weapons, there are no traps, building is a rough concept and is subject to multiple different griefing tactics, there is no character customization so you can't form teams and identify yourselves on sight by the clothing you wear, etc.
And the experimental branch is a fresh start on Rust with the lessons learned from the old version. However, because it's a fresh start, it's got to start all over, so experimental isn't really playable as a game yet.
