Grey Screen With FacePunch Logo

Hi, i just bought Rust but whenever i try to play it it just sits on a grey screen with the face punch logo on it, i'm on a high end Mac that can run pretty much anything so there shouldn't be any problems, is it just downloading something or is it broken?
if you could help me that would be great
