I have been playing Rust for a long time. When I first started playing there were only three servers. There were a lot of exploits at the time, but I've watched the game grow and progress. As most of you know, official servers are impossible to play on at the moment because of the cheaters. My friends and I have started going from community server to community server. I have now been banned from at least 10 community servers. I spent multiple days on each of these servers stocking up, building a base, and killing as many people as possible. I was banned from each of those servers with the reason being that I cheat. I do not cheat. Somebody will say in chat that eSully cheats. 15 other people, that I've never even seen in game, will chip in and say something along the lines of, "yeah, eSully is a cheater, blah blah blah". I see this same behavior in every server I go to. Some admins are better than others and actually do some detective work before they ban. However, sadly enough, it appears that a lot of admins are quick to ban anybody who is accused of cheating without any actual proof. Between the currently horrible official servers, the quick to ban admins, and the large amount of players who call anybody who kills them a cheater, Rust is currently very hard to enjoy.
If you're one of the good admins, I commend you. If you're one of the players who accepts their deaths without screaming cheater, I respect you. If you're one of these players calling everybody a cheater, chill the fuck out.
*snip*
I feel your pain, I swear 80% of the player base are 12 and scream 'HAXX HAXXXOR MUMMY MUMMY HE KILLED ME SO HE IS A HACKER, wahh wahh blah blah blah' anytime you kill them, they cannot accept for one moment that you might be better than them. Cunts.
Here, have a Gold Star!
I play on official servers just fine, I've only seen maybe 2 or 3 actual hackers. I think this number is just stretched because it's so easy to call people hackers when they kill or raid effectively.
Apparently you build miles outside the map and appose no interest to any hacker from the shack you live in. Official servers are infested with hackers and I mean they are constantly everywhere but you wouldn't know that if you aren't fighting with everyone. The rust community is terrible and he isn't whining at all more of saying how bad the community is and if you state any kind of facts on this forum you have people like you that have to come in and flame every chance you get.
If your main goal is to kill as many people as possible, including freshspawns, I think you're the problem here. People will whine and complain and call you a hacker, just like you whine and complain about so many "hackers" on the official servers.
So basically, mass hysteria.
1-Set up a base
2-Gather some weapons/gear etc.
3-PVP
How are you supposed to determine that somebody is a fresh spawn? I don't understand how killing everybody is an issue. Starting fresh is pretty fun to me. I have to run from the top dogs in the server. I have to hide and pick and choose what resources I go after. I don't really see how that justifies me being banned from ten servers.
You must not play much if you don't think 2-3 cheaters can ruin a server. I played on US Central 1 and the same cheater ran rampant on there for three straight days.
It also only takes one cheater to ruin an entire server. And it is constantly being done.
Just posted this in another thread, glad to see we aren't the only ones!
Yes. Me and my group get this all the time. People get mad because we killed them, accuse us of hacking. This gets the admins attention and they ALWAYS believe the people that are raging at us. Just yesterday some admins went after us and my group raped them. Their response? My group is hacking. Everyone must unprivate their steam account or get banned. So I just told them to go fuck themselves and just ban us straight away. I posted a little rant on reddit about it, but all I got from most people is "Your group is probably a bunch of assholes, you deserved it"
We have basically been forced to get our own server because it's the same story everywhere. After a day or so on a server we WILL get banned. It is annoying as fuck.

I've been banned from 2 servers today so far, I walked in to a house (while one of them was opening the door) with 4 guys in and killed them all with a pick axe, "apparently" I was using god mode, noclipping, speed hacks and an aim bot......AN AIM BOT WITH A PICK AXE!!!! lol
Its very hard to play Rust on any server atm either abusive admin or everyone flaming hacker and you get kicked. I was even kicked from a server "Cohhilitions the streamer's server" for putting WOOD DOORS in someones base while I was raiding it! haha When I added the admin "Blade" he said "I was a cancer on the server and that I raided/killed to many people"..... I mean wtf xD
This is exactly why community ban lists are not a good idea unless you have supportive evidence of a hack, not just a 'suggestion' to the ban list. I respect anyone that is not cheating.
it's funny how the people who enjoy raiding because the game allows for it get mad when the admins kick them because the game allows for it.
and yet they think the 2nd thing is bad.
looooooool
thanks for the laughs, kids
Peace

It's funny watching this forum:
Half the users think that community-based banlists are a great idea where nothing could go wrong.
Half the users complain about hyper-paranoid admins who ban at the drop of a hat.
And about half of the user population switches back and forth between camps, simultaneously arguing in favor of community ban lists while complaining about hyper-paranoid admins.
3 halves?
that's... that pretty much sums up what's wrong with this community.
tainted, again, thanks for the laughs
I can always count on 1 of you to be there to prove my point.
Peace
B
3 halves?
Yeah: switching back and forth (the "third" half") is not exclusive of the first two halves.
Well at least we aren't alone but it seems like everyone is starting to rent servers now lol. But I play with a group of 3-16 normally and just about any server where we go on and destroy we get called hackers. The skill gap in the game reminds of of counter strike but with less bitching. At least in counter strike most of the time people accept people as being good.
We are a decent group of gamers so we've all been accused of hacking in games when we weren't so I know how it feels.
If you need a good server you can check out ours. Our admins will not ban anyone without knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt they are hacking. We are very active (nearly 24/7 admins) and keep a good eye on the community. Server is PVP, 1/4 craft, sleepers and oxide so there is door sharing. No craftable C4 so you actually can build a base without it being wrecked constantly. Always someone around to answer questions if you have any.
Server name:
-- |US|PVP|Slprs|1/4 Craft|Oxide
net.connect 216.245.220.226:28035

I have to call bullshit. I was on an official server where I died every two minutes or less to the suicide hack. Well administrated private servers are a completely different experience.
