Hello All,
Is the VAC ban not actually enabled for Rust servers? We have had some issues with players who have historical VAN bans (2+) that are still able to play.
How does VAC work, is it game specific? I had assumed that a VAC ban would disable them from playing RUST, but that seems to not be the case.
Thanks,
Glooms
VAC bans are not global to Rust. If you're banned on another game (Call of Duty) you won't be banned on any other game. The only global bans are for Source games. Google it next time, this isn't the place to ask about something that has nothing to do with Facepunch.
Roger that.

I don't even understand what you are trying to say. He should've googled it, this isn't his personal question forum. (for things outside Rust, at least.)
It's not out side of rust, VAC is included in rust, so asking in the rust sub forums was correct. Maybe he did not wish to google it. And what i am asking you to do is stop being an asshole, and just awnser his question with out the comment.

You're the last, best hope for humanity.
Also, VALVE Anti-Cheat questions don't relate to Rust at all.
We found the RUST glitch that allows no-clipping. We'll report it properly.

Uhh, VAC is packaged with rust, getting mad at some guy on the internet doesn't mean you can win the argument by lying

Does that mean that all VAC questions belong here? No. He could have solved this problem easily by googling the question. He literally asked "How does VAC work?".
Curse this idiot for daring to ask about the anti-cheat Rust uses, which happens to be made by Valve and shared with many games! Never mind the daily repeated suggestions for the same things over and over, people asking about VAC is the real issue!
To the OP, VAC bans really only effect one game, with exceptions listed on the Steam support page for VAC (Valve Source and GoldSrc games are the only ones with shared VAC bans).

And you could have answered the question, left it at that, and/or possibly linked him to a helpful page instead of spending the entire thread so far bitching about it.
For VAC to prevent you from joining any Rust servers (should you be flagged) the VAC ban must have been triggered either on Rust or on a game sharing the same engine, if the workings haven't changed
I'm not sure if it works like that still, but the game specific part is still up-to-date
Now, InsaneParrot, you may calm your butt

He asked a simple question which was, is the Vac ban global since its a feature we use here in rust seems like a good location to start.
Quit being a dick and move on,

Actually, this thread has been you guys bitching about it after him and I ended it. Notice him saying "Roger that".

And I don't think I have said anything that should lead you to believe that I'm mad, considering you are the ones calling me the asshole.
"How does VAC work"
He's asking about how VAC works, which would have been a general VAC question, EXCEPT that he's asking specifically because a VAC-banned person is playing Rust. That makes it relate to Rust.

So, he couldn't have solved this through google rather than here?
I'd love for the first future google result concerning VAC in rust to be this thread, where people complain about others not using google.

Are you obsessed with Google? Surely you have better things to do with your time then tear down forum threads?

It's already flooded with enough threads stating the same bug 500 times.
