How does one craft a metal door? Do I need to find a blueprint from a zombie / factories?

You need the blueprint, then study it. Then it is 200 metal fragments to craft.
EDIT: I found my blueprint in a factory, I don't know if you can find them on zombies.
Or you could get a friend to make one and with a research kit and some paper you can learn how to make one that way.

You can find every BP on a zombie.
