So now, we all spawn on a beach. The trolls who figure out every loophole because they cannot be bothered to actually play have started building right next to the spawn or anywhere on a beach, and just killing newly spawned players. Being attacked instantly when I wake up by five idiots with axes, spear and guns, not a challenge, I just die. It took me 6 spawns to get off the beach, then a couple more to actually start farming to build.
I am hoping they bring back random(semi) spawn points all over the map.
I actually like the beach spawns. It made no sense to just spawn anywhere. Starting on the beach at least lets you come up with any number of reasons how or why you got there.
You could just as easily been inserted onto the map by parachute, plane or helicopter. If there were some type of spawn protection, then the beach would be fine. However, there are now so many cowards just building there and doing nothing but killing new spawns, it is just about impossible to start.
I just don't get how they are so vacant, practically drooling as they giggle mindlessly that they killed someone. Never mind that it wasn't a challenge.
Its like d-day in the beaches, people yelling "get to the hills!" as geared guys shoot the fresh spawns in their stone base. Its a blood bath, but i guess their trying to add "more danger" when spawning and starting gathering resources. I think its smart but i like the random spawns a bit better.
I think the 'more danger' was unintentional, unless I missed something on Twitter? I am hoping that this is temporary, or they have yet another troll fix in the works.

they get their rocks off from fucking with people (U MAD BRO? syndrome). if anything, it needs to be easy/unfair odds so they can "win". most of them are bored, and have no respect for people actually trying to try out the changes.
i was on a server with 3 people yesterday trying out the current build. one guy was the admin, the other a random who came running into my build and killed me without saying a word, or crafting a thing. that's what he came on for, just to kill randoms.
i wish they would just fuck off to COD or something, because its pretty irritating being killed by someone who actually has no interest in playing the game.
Almost exactly my train of thought. I logged on to my favorite server after a 3 day work stint, and I am immediately accosted by a gang of gibbering goons who continue to crow and brag about how they killed a new spawn for another 5 minutes or so.
I then respawn and am set upon immediately, I mean no sooner than I stand up, by a group of three who have also built a house on a beach directly next to a spawn area.
Do this 6 times. It isn't the fault of Facepunch, it is the mindless vapid idiots who think that 'game' means fight or kill or constant action. When this is nerfed for them, they will find any way to get off on causing issues for others.
It's like Taylor Swift says:
The Griefers are gonna grief, (grief, grief, grief, grief)...
and the Trolls are gonna troll, (troll, troll, troll, troll)...
and the Haters are gonna hate, (hate, hate, hate, hate)...
etc.
I like spawning on beaches. I don't like being spawn camped. I'm so torn.
i suppose you could randomly spawn on ANY beach?

You think they didnt realize they were creating a more dangerous situation for fresh new spawns by having them spawn in one spot? If that wasn't their intentions then why did they do it? Because warm beaches make people feel good?
Honestly i don't think its that big of a deal if they balance out resources. It won't be worth it for geared guys to spawn camp the noob area if every bullet they spend is worth a lot more. I'm not saying it won't happen i just dont think it will be as big of a deal. You have nothing to gain and everything to lose if you're a geared guy taking out fresh spawns.
Hey guys, just checking this thread,is the spawnpoint the same location everytime?
If yes then it wont take long until you spawn in a 1x1 stone house with windows all arround. You know what i am talking about.....
Actually agree with that people that say random is better.
To the question, what you gain from fresh spawns ?
Kills :)

That is assuming these trolls actually try to play the game. They don't. They get some kind of sick joy out of just killing new guys and could care less about the gain from it. They collect the starter rock as a sort of trophy. With 5 guys attacking a new spawn, they only need barely enough resources to make a spear or a stone axe, and they harvest the corpse.
Their entire purpose is just to make people complain and laugh about it. Like Trust said above, they get kills. They care not that the kills don't matter, they just aren't smart enough to realize there is no win from racking up kills.
I am pretty sure the beach spawning is to prevent you from spawning on a wolf pack and spending the next 15 minutes running yelling, "Damn You Garry!".
They're like roving gangs of psychopathic killers. That's the last thing we want in a post-apocalyptic game!
I am pretty sure the beach spawning is to prevent you from spawning on a wolf pack and spending the next 15 minutes running yelling, "Damn You Garry!".
I thought about it too, if thats the case, then i understand the beach spawns.Plus with the new animal ai stuff their adding. Don't wanna spawn and be a bear's buffet.
I am pretty sure the beach spawning is to prevent you from spawning on a wolf pack and spending the next 15 minutes running yelling, "Damn You Garry!".
However, there is only a chance you will spawn in wolves or bears, spawn on a beach insures you die, since the trolls make their homes on said beach with the specific purpose of getting their jollies by killing new spawns.

I am guessing based on all these complaints, we are spawning on the same section of beach over and over again?
Yep. I have respawned in the same exact pot, on a server with 43 people, at least a dozen times when I played yesterday and today. With such a small spawn area, and with knowing exactly where or in what area folks will spawn, the trolls know where to build and get easy kills, although kills mean absolutely nothing in Rust. Less than nothing since they are new spawns and have nothing.
Having a modded server solves this problem. I spawn players in with full clothing, a little food, a stone hatchet, 1000 wood, all the guns in the game, and 10,000 rounds for each. So camp the spawn if you want, but at least the new spawns are armed and ready to go. Best to shoot quickly before they realize they're armed. LOL. As far as vanilla goes though, that'd just piss me off. I'd probably respawn a few times, get killed, get tired of the pre-pubescent laughter shrilling through my speakers, say "F*ck this...", and go play on my own server. Yeah, giving everybody everything from the start defeats the purpose of the game, but until there's more content, its just fun to try and have a war zone. A halfway balanced warzone at that. Killing nakeds with rocks isn't my thing. Hunting an equally armed adversary through the woods at night... now THAT's interesting.

One should not need to mod, or play on a modded server to survive. I like the war zone for those player that just must have constant battle and killing to stay interested, but I play vanilla for survival and building. I play PVP so I can defend my home. Waking up to 5 drooling idiots fapping as they spear me so quickly I barely stand up, not my idea of fun.

I agree with you there. Brings up an interesting point on human nature though. A lot of things about this game do. What would people do if technology disappeared? Arm themselves with sticks and wait to killl the new guy just because there's nothing else better to do at the moment. Sounds about right. I was always more for the challenge. Killing someone who had a fair chance to killl you is much more rewarding. I don't even kill sleepers I find. No fun in that. I'd rather they woke up so they could try and run when they realized I was nearby. Or come after me with a rock so I can shoot them in the face when they get close. That's just me though. Plenty of players get their jollies from trolling helpless players just to piss them off. To each their own. They'll re-implement "random" spawns at some point, I'm sure. At least I sure as hell hope so. Spawn campers are one of the most annoying forms of trolls.
I think spawning people in the temperate zone is a good idea. They should just add a little more variety in the spawn points so they aren't so easily camped. Personally I do enjoy how much harder it is to get started, feels like legacy.
I can't believe they made everyone spawn at the same place. Such a bad decision. Spawn campers will only increase as time goes on, games of this type DESPERATELY need random respawning.
That was one of the issues with legacy. Everyone knew every point on the map so well that they became entrenched, making it impossible for new players. Trolls would do the same, actively hunt out new players just to be dicks. They do it on this version of Rust, but to a much lesser extent do to larger and random maps.
I loved spawning in the middle of nowhere, nothing to eat, needing to travel to search for food and resources. It gives the game that sense of urgency instead of the sense of impending trolling. It also gives a new spawn a chance to play, they get to grow up a bit which makes for more meat when they come for me. ;-)
Its like d-day in the beaches, people yelling "get to the hills!"
In Rust, it's a lone naked guy with a rock. Agreed 100%

With the current state of play, the bulk of my players are mainly interested in building and testing. If they report or I see new players doing nothing else but running around killing or otherwise greifing players or similar they are banned outright.
I mean, a bit of PvP is totally acceptable if they actually play the game --->build, harvest, interact with players and the world etc and completely acceptable under my server rules. Joining the server and making a beeline to the first house to raid or the first player they see to kill them, they wont last long.
If players plan to just sit on the beach and camp new players as they spawn in they can find another server or go back to CoD imo.

I agree with you here, I'm not against any PvP or Raiding, Building is what interests me most , I generally like to build a fortress specifically for people to raid, What most of these raiders don't realize is that they are only teaching me what NOT to build.
What people seem to not understand, is that PVP in Rust is a feature, not the focus. PVP is there so one can defend, or raid for needed resources, or even remove a threat too close to home base. It is to be a struggle to survive the environment. Currently the changes we have seen are leading to that.
What I cannot fathom is those in Rust that specifically and repeatedly say that Rust is about PVP, that it is all PVP. It is impossible to debate with a vacant individual who will not listen, denies everything there is to read and vehemently says that Rust is PVP not a survival game. I just....I....
I like raiding, although I try not to. I defend myself when attacked and kill when needed, but my goal is to build, form a team or join one, and defend the homestead. There is no actual 'loot' in the game since everything can be easily crafted. However, there are resources to be battled over and stock up on. It is just too easy to get them right now.
If metal and sulfur were more scarce, that would make Rust a new game altogether. Same with food, or advanced weapons. Right now, all these folks do is troll and cause as much grief as possible, because for some sick reason it is fun to them.
I agree with "go back to COD"
If it weren't for PvP, I would have no real reason to build stuff and would probably just quit the game after crafting a gun and firing it once. What else is there to do without a real threat to give you REASON to do things.
However, this new way of spawning may cause people to switch to less populated servers to avoid being camped, which would bring up the visitor count in small empty servers and bring it down in big ones. Kind of an interesting domino effect when you think about it.
