Where the zombies any good in the game? Facepunch, why were they removed?

The zombies really added nothing to the game. They looked like Dean Venture from The Venture Brothers. People claim they were atmospheric and interesting, they really mean they liked that they were 1 hit loot pinatas. In short its no loss that they were removed.

Exactly, a good zombie game is needed but there isn't any really good ones out there. What the zombie fans want is a good zombie game in which you can roam freely, play with friends, build your own buildings etc. Rust did that really well, and still does. Just now without the zombies.

The devs decided last June that Rust wasn't a zombie game.
They just dawdled in removing them, and the hype train kept repeating the lie that Rust was the new DayZ.
It's time to accept that zombies are over in Rust.

Wait for The Dead Linger if you want a real zombie survival game instead of a survival game peppered with zombies. Might be awhile but that's early access for ya. I'm sure there are others but TDL has caught my eye and I've followed through development.
