Can I redeem Rust on steam if I have previously bought it?

I bought a rust key about 2 months ago and played it a little, but now it is on steam surely I don't have to pay for it again, so is there a way to redeem a product key on steam or something?

Go to old.playrust.com, sign in and go into the tab called Steam Key. You should be able to get it there. Then just log into Steam, press add a steam game and put in the code.

Redeem that code on Steam, see if that works.
