[B]THE RESULTS ARE IN, THIS BASE WAS NOT 100% SECURE. But with a minor modification, it is 100% secure. I was missing 16 pillars, that are necessary for complete safety.
I would be willing to upload a video online, but need a server to build the revised house in. This took 8 hours to mine and build this house, so if someone owns a server and would like me to make my final version of this house on it, then please PM me. I will not be making a video unless someone provides a server that can spawn resources such as foundations / pillars / walls[/B]
With everyone complaining about how its impossible to make a secure base, I thought I would give it a shot. After a few builds, and a few times getting owned by trolls, this is the final version of my build.
It is a 6x6 foundation, 4 stories tall, with a 6x6 elevated roof. The main house is 2x2 with the first 2 floors completely open. The only way to get upstairs is dieing and respawning on a sleeping bag. I get gear upstairs using the chest hanging off the edge. If a player gets on my roof, they are unable to get to my walls, there is no way to use C4 to gain entry to my upstairs. It's a little hard to see in the screenshots, but the second floor ceiling are blocked by pillars inside and outside my building, so there is no way to boost to the 3rd floor using a barricade. I'll upload a video if its too hard to see and if anyone is interested.
Anyone think they can get in my base? Or is it troll / C4 proof?

Could you give us some kind of blueprints? Would really appreciate it.
It seems to be a pain in the behind to actually use and live in. Apart from hackers, who can pretty much steal your stuff through walls anyways, so i won't include them here, all you have to do to make a base safe enough is to provide enough doors/walls to resist enough C4 and normally 2 floors of metal with a resistance of 40+ C4 makes it rather safe.
By the way its hard to see, but did you also consider people grief building stuff on/inside your base?, at least you should think about ramps around your place to avoid people locking you inside your base.
I've mined and have about 300 low quality metal in my base. Transporting the items into my base takes about 30 seconds. Also a hacker can't get next to my wall on the 4th floor to get items through the walls, so unless the hacker can fly or noclip this will be hacker proof.
For a descriptive blueprint: build a hollow 2x2 house 4 stories tall. Build a staircase from 3rd to 4th floor. Fill bottom floor with pillars to prevent building a ceiling on the 2nd floor (after sleeping bag installed on 4th floor). Fill up necessary pillars for 6x6 roof. Then fill in ALL missing pillars, this will literally be like 10,000 wood in pillars. Its pretty simply design. To get stuff in your chest just put a barracade below your hole, and a chest hanging off the lip of your hole. Get on top of barracade to fill chest, suicide, then loot chest upstairs, bam your safe.

[B]Some areas the foundation can't be extended, so they can't even block these areas.[/B] If they can make a 2 wall tall thing around your base, your blocked in, but 1 c4 and your out. Also there's many ways to troll, but this prevents the more severe / permanent methods of trolling.
I'm definitely gonna check this out on the server. And I'll have a look if maybe it's even possible to improve it a little.
I don't understand the point of the pillars or how the base is raid-proof. What's to stop someone from boosting up to the 3rd floor and putting down a ceiling to walk across the pillars and blow up your wall?

Pillars prevent them from placing a ceiling. Go to server and look. You can get ontop of ceiling 4th floor, but if your up there you can't blast any walls, or drop into any of my floors, as the ceilings overhangs. The pillars prevent them from building any walls, pillars, stairs, ceilings to gain access to upper floors using barracades, etc. So my 3rd and 4th floor cannot be accessed by ANYONE (in theory).

What's stopping someone from placing a ceiling in your pillars? If you have, say, a wood foundation with all 9 pillars on it, can't you still put a ceiling on top of it?
There is a pillar in each corner, a pillar on each wall, and a pillar in the center. Center pillars block ceilings, wall pillars block walls, and corner pillars allow the roof to be built on the top to prevent people from dropping in. Also extending the wall pillars to the top is necessary to prevent someone hopping across the center pillars to gain access to the top floor.
Number of planks: would have to calculate that later, way too many to count lol

No. You can place a ceiling only where all four corner pillars are - no more, no less.
The other 5 pillars seem to have no other purpose in the game, atm. As the centre pillar alone is enough to prevent the ceiling, I don't know why you can place the side pillars. More game content to come, I guess.

Uh have you every tried offsetting to center or wall only, you can build offset ceilings on top of those. You don't have to use only corners. And if you don't block all combinations, they may squeeze in a ceiling where you lease expect it, like using 4 center beams as the corners
How do you drop off loot if you have to die to get inside? If you die you lose everything.

In one of the screenshots you see me looking up at a chest. Get on top of a barracade, use the chest, drop loot in chest, die, respawn upstairs, loot same exact chest for loot.
Nice, i will try to reproduce it myself, maybe a cheaper version with just 1x1x1 central storage room for a start.
Only flaw i could imagine is if you could place a sleeping bag on the ceiling border, next to the transfer crate, while jumping on the barricade. Have you tried it ?

If that works he could block every possible spot off with chests or barricades

I have a door on my bottom floor. And thats just a transfer chest, so not ALL my loot would be stored in there, just what I'm transfering upstairs. But if someones blowing down your door, well your equipment is probably screwed. But your shit you stored upstairs is probably safe

Above he mentioned how it sounds like you can put stuff in a chest that is reachable from the bottom and top. Put it in chest, suicide, pull it out of chest, store in loot boxes.
Can you throw grenades onto the top floor? Sounds like if someone destroyed your sleeping bags, you'd be hosed.

Since the liveable place is 2 floors high it's not hard to prevent people from being able to throw grenades to the 2nd floor.
