Ok so, people are having trouble with the /do coords and finding their position.
Now, what if there was a program that had the map file (a picture of the map) saved in itself, and when you wanted to find out where you are, you enter those 3 numbers and it pulls up the map and places a red dot where you are.
I am not a programmer of any sort, so I do not know the difficulty of this task, but I do know it will help lots of people.
That sounds like it would be very helpful, as long as it didn't give away your position to other people or give their positions to you

A programmer could line up a large overhead Rust map with one specific position on the map (they could probably do this by standing next to a recognizable object) and then base everything from a few points, even figuring out where true north is.

I agree, I have never seen the rust map but isn't their coords on the left/right?

Yes it's a left-handed coordinate system, you have to add the max width to the Z coordinate and get your Y-coordinate from it.
Yup, this needs to be made!
