Fundamental issue with the lack of named players on death
8 replies, posted
OK,
I've played this game for two months, i'm SURE there's an aimbotter on the BMRF server. I wanted to report him and then ran into an issue. I don't know his name. How am I meant to report someone on the forums if I don't know the name of the person that I think is cheating? It applies further than this; if there was a noclipper flying around the map, how can the admin ever work out who it is if no one can ever see the name? Has anyone else found this issue too, or maybe a resolution?
thanks
Good point.
Yeah there isn't much you can do about a unamed hacker, but doesn't Rust use everybody's steam usernames?
I make sure I have my FRAPS running, then I chase him to get his name
This bug is just as bad as when they removed hit markers.
When did they remove hitmarkers?

it doesn't matter what they use if they don't show it
Add nametags back to chat, or add something that pops up for when you die/kill someone.
^ Would also be great to be able to tell who a sleeper is.
