TL;DR Admin is gone, hacker joins the server and is killing everyone and for some reason VAC isn't working. Now me and my friend will try to find a new server or the owner of the server's steam so he can ban the plague.
So me and my friend have been playing on this server for 3-4 days, we got a big solid base and lots of supplies... I've never seen the admin online. His name is Karian lee sin - [url]http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198058025435/[/url].
The server had dried out because of him and his 2 budies. He is running around with a bolt action rifle headshotting everyone in a 200 meter distance. He is also spamming the chat with some random language. This is what i find the biggest problem with this game. It's so hard to settle down on a server where you know the server owner is active, friendly and doesn't abuse.
The name of the server is -----(UK)Rust for noobs there is about 30 players online. Is there a way to find the server owner or his steam to ban this guy?
Here is a video of him hacking. He is standing about 150 meters away from me and shoots me right in the head while I'm running... He does this 4 times...

VAC doesn't ban immediately, which is why they need another system along with VAC to kick them from servers immediately until they get vac banned.
no we dont need another system then vac, vac is clever and also the delayed bans are very clever but i guess you dont even realize why!
let me explain, a coder releases an uberpwnzerhaxxerleet injection, people are using it, for 1 day, 2-3-4 even 1 week and are telling others "yeah its totally undetected" and the failtrain starts.
vac is marking all of them and runs the wave ban on ALL of them that are using a specified hack.
if vac would ban within one day it wouldnt be as successful as it is!
hope you see the advantage of delayed bans

Okay that is fine that VAC does that, but what good does a delayed ban do when they are on the server at that moment completely ruining the game and work that you have done for hours or days? Just seems a bit dumb.

maybe the hacker WAS the admin?
unless the admin runs a community page on steam or a personal site/forum you wont be able to find out who the admin is.

That is the downside to VAC, but it is overshadowed by the plus side of delayed banning. You see... These hacks normally come in packages. The ability to fly, to aimbot etc etc... If VAC banned immediately then hackers could develop single hacks and be able to figure out which ones have been detected. With delayed banning, VAC may only notice 1 out of the 8 hacks installed. A month later after you installed another 4 hacks and boom, you're banned. Which hack caused it? You can't possibly know unless you play the long game (would take months and really not worth it).

An active admin team would help.
The other really good thing a delayed VAC ban does is wait for a bunch of people to install the cheat, and then ban them all at once. Otherwise the first guy to get banned could warn everyone else ;)

Well to my knowledge, most of the good hacks to any game are being sold for real money. And they are not cheap at all. Some person buys a hack for 20$, uses it in the game, tells others that it is "undetected", then many other fools buy the same hack. When they all get banned, all these fools would have lost 40$ (including the money of rust). Well this is great for ripping off hackers, but it is also bad because hack developers get money from it. And they keep developing better, undetectable hacks using this money. If VAC bans people immediatelly, nobody will buy that hack, and the developers will go bankrupt and cease developing hacks. And if someone warns others, they will stop hacking. It is not important to catch any potential hackers, it is important to catch actual hackers, and prevent future hacks. If someone wants to hack, but is afraid of hacking because hackers get banned, and doesn't hack because of that, he is not guilty and he shouldn't be banned. Police doesn't wait murderes to tell others "hey I murdered a guy and got away with it" so other potential murderers murder people too and then they all get arrested in a wave.
