Latest Patch - No more Private messages, No AA and more makes it pointless to play currently

Like a lot of users, I hop between the regular Alpha and Dev branch based on which performs best, and overall "works" for me. the latest patch has kinda made both pointless to play now...
- Regular Alpha has no more private messaging and I cannot find a way to actually activate chat in any way shape or form. Some say "well bind a key to it" there appears to be no key in the opening configurator to do so unless I am blind. Even if we had chat, private messaging was a huge help to those of us that play SOLO, since I usually make an alliance with my neighbors, so being able to private message them for help, or to help them was a huge feature over certain other survival games I liked.
- AA being removed as an option is a huge "annoyance" now for those of us that use the launch options to obtain a good playable framerate. Without AA, the sky glitches out to where you cannot see any real distance, or time of day (aside from just a weird glob of light). I know many will say "omg get something better than a wooden computer" but if you do some research here on the forums MANY people are playing with rather beefy PC setups and barely hitting 20 FPS or less, unless they use the launch parameter options which force down quality on things like rock textures, the skybox, etc. It literally does increase performance 200-300% and we've lived with having AAx2 on to fix the skybox but now that's not even an option anymore.
- And this may just be me, and I'm not sure if it's related to grass displacement being on by default, but walking near trees and some grass my character suddenly loses all items he is carrying, yet he is not dead or hurt.
It really makes playing really pointless right now. I can't private communicate with friends / neighbors unless we hoof it on foot to meet one another and use the local voip (hoping no one is hidden near by to hear the conversation), and I really cant see a point to venturing far from your home due to the skybox being all screwy for those of us with the launch options.
So, can we like get a rollback patch or at least re-implement AA options, private chat, etc?
Everything ok with chat. Its survival and u can use global/steam chat. -_^ Better without global, only proximity.
It sounds like you're complaining about an alpha being an alpha.
I don't think AA was "removed" so much as whatever changes have occured since last patch probably broke it and it hasn't gotten fixed yet.
I think you need to adjust your expectations as to what kind of play experience you will receive from an alpha game in active development.
Notice the first two sentences of the paragraph...

If a computer is barely hitting 20 FPS in Rust, I wouldn't call that beefy.
My PC isn't exactly top of the line, but it never dips below 40 FPS on the absolute highest possible settings.
You know? I think them taking out Global chat is awesome. I am sick to death of all the epeen and trash talking. This is supposed to be a survival game not freakin COD. The way it was made no sense. If it is going to be a more realistic survival game how the heck would I know who shot me? I do not want to see the name of who shot me or have to listen to them tell me how much of a noob I am for them getting a lucky shot. Just sayin.
bring back old recoil where you don't spaz out when you shoot

Got a friend who plays, his setup?
Win 7 64bit
Intel i7 3770 3.5ghz
16gb DDR3
Nvidia Titan x2 SLI (yes two thousand buck gpus)
256gb SSD (forget the manufacturer sorry)
And he barely gets 15 FPS, even with up to date drivers, even trying just using one gpu and not both in SLI, even after a refresh format. Yet me on my system I can get about 25-30ish (without launch parameters) and I can guarantee my system is a fraction of what his is.
Like I said if you look around on the forums, there's plenty of folks with decent PC's that have recent GPU's, recent CPU's, and still get very low frame rate or other graphical issues while some people who have lower end setups get equal performance as them.
Yes, we all know the mighty mantra ALPHA IS ALPHA, but fuck me as an Alpha tester I actually want to play the damn game, as stated this patch has made it unplayable. Sure if I don't mind just walking around five feet and not going anywhere because I can't see thanks to the skybox being fucked then I can play all I want. But as someone who wants to play the game, alpha being alpha still, I expect it to at least work.

I feel you miiiight need to adjust your expectations here. You're not on the winning team in this argument.

you can chat, just bind a key in the in game settings. its just not bound by default.
Wait, how do you use local chat?

HAHA! That is like the same setup I have, though I got an i7 Hexacore, can't remember which one, and I have windows 8, and no SSD, just 2x 1TB HDD (two titans are super expensive :c) Anyways, I can hit 60FPS no sweat, with forcing open gl.

Bizarre, I'm playing on a Radeon HD 7790 and hitting 45 FPS at all times. Have you tried -force-d3d9 or -force-opengl?
First of all who buys a fucking Titan, please go back tow here you came from it's proven a 780 performs better at half the price.

More VRAM. I do video editing with my PC as well as gaming, a 780 doesn't really do it for me. And besides, it's all about compensation (you know what I mean.) If I really wanted a good PC, I would get a GTX 690. Titan sounds cooler anyway.
About AA, that was removed because although you could enable the option it didn't actually do anything.

True but it also kept the skybox from derping out when using the launch options to obtain a good framerate. Now with the sky derping out, due to no AA, it makes chasing the airdrops pointless because you cant see the sky.

Zero launch parameters here;
Win 7 64bit
i7 950@stock
4GB Corsair Dom
Nvidia 660GTX SC
1TB drive, no SSD.
60-80 FPS max settings, no dev build. You're a god damn idiot, and a liar.

Why would I lie about performance of a game? Next time I'm at my buddy's place I'll gladly whip out my iPhone and record some footage while he has Fraps running so you can see the framerate counter.
Not to mention, again, if you do some proper research here on the forums, you'll find many other cases of people who have similarly beefy setups who get poor performance. While I commend Garry and his work, Unity is a horrible engine to push a game out with. I personally, get a better frame rate and stability out of DayZ in the Arma 2 engine, than I do Rust and Unity.

Not necessarily. As mentioned, I get 45 FPS on a comparatively MASSIVELY underpowered machine.
Actually, in the time I've spent with Unity, this isn't something I've ever really heard of, and I highly doubt it's caused solely by the Unity engine.
Although I too have a hard time believing two Titans can't push more than 15 FPS in Rust... maybe it's a driver issue?

But then if i may ask what is the point in having two Titans :)?

Did he just say AA IMPROVES performance? Wow is this guy seriously retarded?
I may have missed something but what the hell is local chat?
