If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Disclaimer: I'm not very good at photoshop, but I felt that the community needed a better map so I figured I'd step up to the plate. Below is a preview, and here is a high quality version available for download: http://i.imgur.com/K0vwuAY.jpg
Looks good, but it's a bit impractical right now. You should make one that only includes the playable area.
Not too bad, but i would like to suggest a way to measure distance. When using a grid system maps typically have a unit of measurement assigned to each grid (e.g., yards, miles, etc.). Im not saying that it is necessary but it could be helpful when figuring travel time while trying to meet up with other players.

I had a home at 5-K pre-wipe and there was plentiful resources that spawned out there too. I think a smaller grid would be better though, maybe twice the amount of lines, vertical/horizontal, in order to better pinpoint locations when communicating to friends. Thanks.

Any other "empty" areas that has resource/animal spawns?

Just off to the right of the map, not displayed, is the east coast (water), all along the 'L' column.
Nice, just draw what else you need on this map. Thx for the map!
would be cool if you could add radiation zones, supply respawn areas, notable landmarks, etc.
Appreciate the post, very helpful.
now i just need to figure out where my camp is when server gets back up haha
Here's a revised copy which includes the area which harvests and animals spawn. Again, this is rough and I'm merely basing it on a post I saw before. Also, thanks for the positive responses. When I get some time I'll consider making the grid smaller and adding a kilometer bar. The tricky part with this is that I have no way to measure distance in the game so it really wouldn't be accurate at all. We need a new map (new island). Can you atleast tell me how did oyu make it so I can do it ?
That map was created by Alphacheeto....not Xavi, his name is even on the map itself in the middle top lol
Exactly, the original is around somewhere. He just put on a "compass" and his name. Oh and the map wasn't changed it just had rocks added.
My bad, didn't mean to claim ownership over the map itself, just the grid and the modifications. That's exactly why I left his name on the map itself. Does anyone know if there's an updated version with rocks.
Maybe you shouldnt mesure it in Kilometers but in time. Start on the road, and walk the entire road till you get where you started. Time it and place it on the map. That way players can see for themself how long it takes to travel along the road.
