The rest of the updates don't bother me but i like to know who i killed and who i was killed by just makes it fun if you know who you killed for a bit of banter (or payback etc...) also with the new chat and notifications maybe if it was tweaked a tad for who killed you/killed notification i dont know i just want to know who i killed/killed by ;_;

If someone kills me, I want to know who to extract revenge upon.
Bad change in my opinion.. If someone kills me, I want to know who to extract revenge upon.
That kind of mentality kinda obligates whoever killed you to kill you again so you can't kill them. Its a never ending cycle...

It puts realism to the game. If you can't confirm whoever killed you then thats too bad.
It puts realism to the game. If you can't confirm whoever killed you then thats too bad.
Realism should only go so far, there is a point when it becomes a nuisance. This seems to be one of those times, I feel.
It puts realism to the game. If you can't confirm whoever killed you then thats too bad.
This realism argument is tired.. It's a video game. I can't wait for pooping and peeing to be implemented. Realism!
Realism should only go so far, there is a point when it becomes a nuisance.
But it needs to go as far as to stop someone to abuse whoever killed them. [editline]24th November 2013[/editline] But that is the point, you want to know who killed you so you can exact your revenge on them. If you don't know who it was, then there is no revenge, and then there's no fun. It gives the aspect of immersion. Unless you want everything to be a lot less interactive rather than what the devs are aiming for.

What if someone wants to hide from their confirmed kills?
What if someone wants to hide from their confirmed kills?
Then they should think twice before blowing everyone away.
I like how you can't see who killed you. Its more realistic.
maybe it should be if you kill someone it tells you who you killed, but the other person doesnt know who killed them. however seeing who killed you puts a morality choice on the gun man, are the rewards worth the title of bandit?
They just need custom models and clothes so we can see who killed.
Well you could keep it as now but perhaps have 'georges pack' on the ground on a dead body. After all... once you got in there you should be able to identify the body
All the people talking about realism here are probably the same people drawing crosshairs on their monitors.
Realism? Oh god, how about this, where did you EVER see that you are not able to build a house with 3000 wood? In reality thats some heck of a house. Next up, where did you see naked people running with guns? Or do you know how to craft a 9mm pistol? Dont know about you but I am unable to make a pistol with my own hands.
Maybe a way to Identify a body after you've killed them?
Yea, I dont like the change either - Now people cant stream snipe me since they dont know it was me who killed them, I always streamed with no delay so if any1 got upset that I killed them and wanted a 1v1 they could easily find me and we could fight.

Dying and respawning because you placed a sleeping bag in a certain place isn't realistic. Not everything needs to be realistic to improve immersion. Some things are better for gameplay, like knowing who killed you so you can get revenge with your respawned-after-dying, completely unrealistic new body.
This encourages KOS. You have even less of a risk if you choose to kill someone, because they don't know who you are.
Why are you always wants the game to be more vanilla? It's survival game. It means that this game should be more hardcore and realistic. And it will be so (i guess). So, i agreed with this developers solution. We could know who killed us only if we were too close to see his nickname.

In the real world, everybody doesn't look exactly the same with 4 choices of clothing to wear. I agree with others, it encourages KOS because there are even less repercussions because you can't tell people apart without relying entirely on running up on some to get their name, an option that is not terribly inviting when someone is shooting at you. I don't have a huge problem with some of these things long term, but the timing is always backwards. Sleepers was introduced because 'eventually you'll be able to build base protection.' This was added with the idea that eventually you will be able to tell each other apart. BTW, hardcore and realistic would mean permadeath. Anything less and you are selectively and subjectively picking how you want things to be hardcore and realistic.
It puts realism to the game. Its pretty good water.

[editline]24th November 2013[/editline]
It puts realism to the game.
Yes, because realism is a priority in a game where you can make leather by setting cloth on fire, you kill bears to collect their chicken breasts, and radiation poisoning is cured by drinking a bottle of water.
Chicken breasts from bears are a placeholder. Drinking water helps detox your body from radiation. "Drink lots of water to flush the radiation out of your body" Can't comment on the cloth for leather part but I'm sure it will be revised. Your arguments are based on unfinished parts of the game. Not knowing who killed you may very easily be in the final product while getting chicken breast from bears obviously won't be.
It puts realism to the game. If you can't confirm whoever killed you then thats too bad.
realism? why wouldnt you know who your attack is? you would see them before they shot you, in rust every fucker looks the same. Death/Kill Tags needs to be in Rust.
