Hello,
I have a question related to the future purchase locations of the game "Rust". Is it going to be available on Steam? If so...will it be available for pre-purchase and early beta/alpha access? As far as i can see this is being applied for more and more games lately, and i believe that this would be a good marketing solution.
Or, is Rust going to be a completely "Freemium" game -> IAP system(in-application purchases)? But free to play...or pay to play?
I know that it is still to early to ask this...but any answer will be great.
I wanted to know...so i thought that via a thread such as this could clarify the situation.
Thanks,
Kiske
You mean free to play but pay to win?
no this is a survival game where you wont get any advantages by throwing money at the developers *Warz *Cough* *Cough*
it will cost money when it is released and they have stated that they hope they can get it on Steam.
What I would like to know is if there will be Steam achievements if it actually is put on Steam.
The thing is...that if the game will actually be present on Steam, won't it be applicable for the "Greenlight" section as well? Since the game is actually in an early stage right now, it would be nice to get a heads-up for any future features...such as Xanbunny stated "achievements" or any other features that would enhance the gameplay or the end users and have a long term high user retention.
And before you ask it:
-it will eventually be on steam.
-we don't know what the final price will be
-it won't be free to play
-there is no release date yet
Garry has said that they plan on submitting Rust to Greenlight.
The game is in early alpha. Discussing things such as Steam achievements is like building a car and discussing what colour of screw to use to hold the mirrors in place while the only part of the car that's actually assembled and working is a prototype of the engine and it catches fire if it runs for too long without stopping. You're getting so far ahead of things you look like a complete moron.
Hello,
I do not understand why you are flaming over basic questions. As it is well known in the game industry, before you start developing a game/application, you have a plan. Within that planning, you are marking key features for the implementation. I do not want to argue over this, since such additions are in most of the cases kept secret or it is given a small sneak peak in order to gain more attention from the "public". I know how this industry works and i know what I'm talking about.
It was just a simple question, i want to keep it that way.
I've read those rules, but i didn't see the quote that you gave in your previous message, and i am sorry for my simple mistake.
Thank you for your answer and have a nice day,
Kiske.
