• Added Combat Logging fix - If you disconnect within 30 seconds of taking damage, or if you disconnec

WOW that has gone from stupidly easy to survive to HARD CORE!!! I hope there are improvements made as this sounds like a blunt way to resolve combat logging. Most games have a timer of say 10 seconds, id much prefer to have that extended to 20 seconds if your bleeding or taken damage in the last 30 seconds. We will see!

Oh god what will home_boii do now?
That's awesome, the only flaw I see is, let's say that I'm about to disconnect, but I don't notice the zombie behind me that is about to penetrate my ass. He hits me 1 millisecond before I quit the tab and I will lose all my stuff.
Check your six before having a nap, then. :v:
I've had many cases where zombies were just hiding behind a tree or building, then lunged out at me when I didn't expect them. That happened to me not long ago. I was in this brick house, everything was quiet and all, and then BAM, a red zombie rushes in, goes inside me (literally) and gets 2 hits on me before I am able to move away and take a clear shot. Of course that's not a big issue at all and it doesn't need improving, but it would be nice to allow us to quit the game without dying at least half a second after we get damaged.
The game just changed for the pussys who combat log. No change for a few of us but a great change !
Simplistic answer and not much more than I expect. My point is there are ways to eliminate combat logging without the need to eliminate the ability for someone who is outnumbered or outmatched from evading the enemy then using tactics to find a spot to log out in say 20 seconds. That also puts the pressure on the attacker to hit the target and get the kill. We will see how this pans out but really it means if someone gets first hit(head shot), your dead 90% of times which is pretty crappy.
I'm sure they'll improve the system later to leave a clone of you for ~20 seconds after you log even if not in combat, but for now this is fine.
A good fix for now, but I'm hoping that soon it includes non-damage taken combat as well. Sometimes I'll see a guy and he'll turn around and disconnect before I can even pull out my gun, so damage isn't the best measure for now [editline]1st August 2013[/editline] Also maybe a warning status at the bottom right saying 'combat' so that people don't disconnect without realising they were in combat
There definitely needs to be a warning, or a visible status on your HUD for "in combat" or "unable to safely logoff" or something. Maybe a message box if you Alt-F4 or log normally that says something along the lines of "You are currently in combat / bleeding / irradiated / starving. Exiting Rust will cause you to lose all your carried items. Are you sure?" It would be unfortunate for someone who fought 29 seconds before logging out and thought he was clear of this automated death to actually die because of it. I would say the way this "fix" works leaves a lot of room for this fix not working as intended (ie: stopping combat logging).

ErikZ has died twice after the patch because of combat logging while bleeding, combat logging is bad.
Cool, cool... ..the fuck happens if I happen to get hit by a zombie and start bleeding to death and happen to want to leave? Or what if I'm in a hurry in the morning or something and have to leave and I just happen to be shot immediately before closing the window?

I'm sure they'll find a more suitable solution that is fair, but for now it's all they can really do to keep the game fair.
I've never been a combat logger, Mostly because for me: "This guy is shooting? At me? *Straps bomb to chest* "YOUR COMIN' WITH ME MAN!" But in all seriousness, a good change. Should make things more playable by far for those amazing alpha-testers, and youtubers.
