Second, you might've noticed that there have been several other recent clan recruiting threads in the last few days and they've all been closed by the mods for the same reason.

I don't see any mention anywhere that says you can't have recruitment threads. The FAQ mentions the thread but it's far from stated as a rule. That said, multiple recruitment threads have remained open.
Anyway, good luck with the recruitment guys.
