Does anyone know if the small stash has a despawn timer? I have had issues with them vanishing in the past.

Does that mean that I can repair it with leather to prevent it from despawning?
There is a myth going around...
I dont think they just dissapear, but i think the decay rate on them is a little bit fast...
They need to be touch the floor for their decay to be reset to that of the structure. If you place them on something else (workbench, other box etc) then they will decay as normal. I found this out the hard way. You can try it out yourself by placing a campfire or something on top of your workbench or furnace. It will decay and disappear.
e: Items will also decay if a part of the ground pokes through your foundation and you place items on it.
