How long has it been in development and how long do you think it will take to release the beta or fu

I've seen people with videos of Rust for years and it is still in development. How long do you think they will take to release the beta? The game The Forest is about to come out as a beta or full game and its just like this game but it will be singleplayer only, which is no problem at all and I'm looking forward to it but I am also looking forward for this game that is multiplayer.
I've seen many youtube videos and I got to say that this game keeps looking better and better and I can't wait any longer for this game. Hopefully it is not in a few years since years have past that the game has been released as an alpha (if I'm correct).

The time will come when rust is ready for a big amount of players...as of now, they are still adding and TESTING alot of stuff so be patient.

I believe it has only been in developement for 6 months.To me, Rust is doing amazing progress and everyone should really stop asking for keys and criticizing the game because it is in a alpha stage...and we are testers...i repeat testers.

Yes, i understand but some people say stuff like "its so buggy and freaking gay i dont want to play this game even if i could". Criticizing the game is good BUT, some people dont realize its in Alpha and everything is still in progress.

I'm hoping for an early 2014 open(or closed) beta, with a release date around this time next year.

That is, if they can figure a way to get way more(or less) stuff on the map without ruining the experience, I can't imagine server wipes being a huge part of the game after release
